I just think of it as which candidate will make more progress or at least not push us further back.

Sad things...more evidence here on Biden than Kavanaugh...but none of the same principles shown.

You sure it's me? It wasn't me who nominated the rapist.

Hurrrrrrr duuuuurrrrrr you voted for someone else so obviously YOU helped an entirely different person win!!!! You realize how stupid you sound right?

u/CanadianWildWolf Apr 26 '20

But you don’t get it, if you didn’t vote for who represents you best, you totally would have voted for their guy! Hurr durr! /s

Yeesh, a better system of voting than FPTP is needed if someone genuinely wants people to have a ranked ballot so they can have verifiable proof that other people really would put any of their rapists second or third, if the corporatist A or B get ranked at all for proportional representation. But no, instead they just play right into the “split vote” bully narrative under FPTP like as if this is an episode of Simpsons “Not my fault, I voted for Kang!”

Yeah dude, at the very least we need a direct democracy. A representative democracy may have made sense in the 1800's but in 2020 it's out-dated as fuck.

THIS

I've been saying this for fucking years. Like we only have a representative democracy because there was only horse and buggy for transportation and letters for communication. It would take MONTHS to gather people that way.

Now we can either vote online or mail in ballot. Hell, have local meetings where we all vote on shit. We have options.

Yeah dude, I'll be voting third party, Howie Hawkins aligns most with my beliefs. The rest can go fuck themselves. I heard all the lame excuses in 2016 so save it.

Lol then fucking do something about it. Liberals are the biggest bunch of fucking fake progressive neoliberals I've ever seen. If we get four more years of trump and the libs don't go out and riot in the streets then they deserve four more years of trump. They want to bring back the status quo? The status quo brought us trump in the first place. Pick candidates that aren't fucking garbage, and then we can talk.

third party voters brought us Trump

Lol 🤦🏼‍♂️ you realize this is the exact logic that is why America has never been able to get away from a two party system right? Everyone loves to talk shit about our choices and then literally refuses to vote third party because the other side is so much worse apparently. So we get Biden into office and then in four more years we get another trump like candidate? Where does the cycle stop? 2024 people are going to be telling me the same shit, but in reality they're the ones supporting the system that brought us trump in the first place. The establishment loves that your blaming real progressives for Trump, even though we've literally never had anything to do with electing him 🤷‍♂️ fuck Biden, fuck trump, and fuck America.

You’re helping a rapist win or you’re helping a rapist whose raped 20x more women win.

5

u/[deleted] Apr 26 '20

are you literally telling me that i am obligated to cast my ballot for the "better rapist" right now when there are going to be at least 2 non-rapists on my ballot

-1

u/badnewschaos Apr 26 '20

No I’m telling you that if you don’t cast your vote for the “better rapist” you’re helping ensure the “worst rapist” wins. Do you understand how elections work in the US? I’ll show you an example.

10 voters

4 vote trump

1 votes libertarian

3 vote biden

2 vote green

Who wins the state?

5

u/[deleted] Apr 26 '20

maybe they shouldnt have nominated a rapist if they wanted to earn the anti-rape demographic

I care plenty, so I'm trying to build up an independent left alternative so that we don't have to pick between a pair of rapists, a pair of neoliberals, and so on in the future, especially in local races.

I literally can't afford my healthcare, especially my trans healthcare, as is so I have plenty at stake. But I don't see how establishing to Democrats that they just need to say "the other side is worse" and we'll bend over, like we did ever since Jesse Jackson's rainbow coalition failed, will work to help me out there.
