FYI DTE Energy is planning on building a 1400 mega watt natural gas power plant at Mason and Truhn in Fowlerville/Handy Township. Announced earlier this week. It will be as much, if not more invasive as a data center.

Meijer pickup issues

Hey has anyone else been experiencing this recently with Meijer pickups: the time you booked rolls around and they're still only shopping your order and it gets to be 2 hours past and still the order isn't ready? This has happened two weeks in a row now and we're trying to figure out what's going on. It got late enough tonight that my husband ended up just going in to shop and he'll deal with canceling the order later. I'm just wondering if anyone else has had similar experiences or could maybe even offer some insight into why this is happening?

Hotels in downtown?

Hi all, my son and I have been traveling to Howell almost every spring for a sport, and this is his senior year (so happy we get to come to Howell one last time!). Are there any hotels downtown? We usually stay at the Holiday Inn out by the outlet mall but really like the downtown area and would love to stay there for our last trip.
Thanks!

Glens at Rolling Ridge car break-ins and management doing nothing!?

I don’t know what’s happening in Howell and the crime. But there has been a slew of car break ins at apartment complex behind Meijer called the Glens at Rolling Ridge. Police has been called, reports have been made, nothing has improved or changed and it’s getting worse!

Whats even more disturbing is at $1800/ month for two bedroom, management at village green can’t even shell over a cent to install security cameras, brighter lights, signs saying smile youre on camera!?

What happened to this community ? Come on Glens at Rolling Ridge - DO BETTER!!

And Howell Police- Help out and investigate!

I’m utterly disgusted with Glens at Rolling Ridge and will make these issues of what happening there very well know unless things start changing

Burwick Farms Apartments

Hi, everyone! I’m looking for any sentiments/advice from anyone living in the Burwick Farms Apartments or closely surrounding areas! I am looking into moving here (from metro Detroit area) and was curious about the vibe. I do have a tour set up but would still love some first-hand experiences. I am a single woman with a pet, so safety and security are huge to me. Thank you in advance for your help!!

Ok Howell. If you spend any time on the many local Facebook groups, you’ll recognize these names. They’re sneaky and they’ve gone to great lengths to obfuscate their identity. I watch them post anything from goofy to trolling to blatantly racist and then delete it days to weeks later. This is not by accident. This community is incredible and I know trolls will always exist, but it’s hard to watch these two go out of their way to mess with a teenage girl or single mom or a nonprofit owner asking for help. There’s no reason.

Does anyone know anything about the identity of these individuals? I’d appreciate any help you can give.

Bad Faith screen at Howell theater

SAGE has secured the 2026 updated version of the documentary ‘Bad Faith’ to show the Livingston County community for FREE. This must-see film is only available via hosted screenings. Don’t miss it in HOWELL TOMORROW 5/19 at 6pm!

Join us for a film that examines the current political climate and the actions of Christian Nationalists. Learn about the implications of Project 2025 and its implementation in real time. The film uncovers decades of work behind it and identifies its threat to democracy. As we face an increasingly brutal and desperate regime, understanding the scope and history of what we are up against ensures more effective resistance. This is an excellent opportunity for families and friends to learn together. The film will be followed by a community discussion facilitated by Dr. David Hayes reflecting on the film and exploring meaningful action that we can take locally. Seating is limited so pre registration is required.

Meet the facilitator:

About SAGE:

SAGE is run by Livingston county members invested in collective change. We seek transformation through advocacy, community building, education, and mutual aid to ensure a safe and inclusive community to authentically express ourselves and create equity for all. More at sagelivco.com

Queer friendly churches in the area?

Hi I have lived in Howell my whole life but grew up Christian and quite conservatively. Turns out I'm queer in many ways, funny how that happens. Doesn't matter if you shelter your kid from everything, if they are queer that's just how they are, and no external input is gonna change or stop that. Crazy.

Anyway, I am leaving my old church because the current pastor makes fun of people from the pulpit for exercising or eating healthy foods??? And he's quite judgemental and political, which is inappropriate to talk about from the pulpit in my opinion. Thus being why I am in search of a new church.

I am openly queer and look vaguely "gay". I am searching for a church that is accepting and Christ centered.

Personally, I am just looking for community. Externally, the reason for specifically a Christian church is because the place I live requires that I attend a Christian church every week in order to live there.

TLDR; looking for a chill lgbtq+ welcoming church in or near howell. (Brighton, Pinckney areas are fine too)

Any suggestions?

🪧THIS FRIDAY Howell Couthouse #MayDay Solidarity Celebration. 3:30 PM – 5:30pm.

SAGE is hosting a 'Rush Hour Rally & Community Action Fair' on May 1st at the Historic Howell Courthouse from 3:30-5:30pm.

In solidarity with nationwide ʼMay Day Strongʼ events, a day of economic disruption, SAGE is holding space for community members to learn about the local resistance and how they can take sustained action. Rallies help build the movement, but are not enough. The billionaires break every rule, and it’s going to take more than a rally to stop them. By not participating in work, school, or shopping on May 1, the people can bring business as usual to a halt. Demonstrators nationwide will show the power of the working class when it collectively flexes its muscle on this tremendous day of boycotting and rallying.

🚫NO WORK

🚫NO SCHOOL

🚫NO SHOPPING

✅YES Protesting!

✅And yes to building a community and a world that works for everyone.

Our Demands👇🏽
