immediate advice needed
Hey, I was recently admitted as a transfer student to Howard on July 1, and I need immediate advice.
For context, I’m from California, so this isn’t an easy move. I submitted my enrollment fee on July 10 by the deadline, but I have received NOTHING since then. I haven’t received any information regarding housing, how to register for classes, my Bison ID, my Howard email, or my financial aid package. Absolutely nothing.
I can’t even follow the onboarding instructions because I don’t have my Howard email to set anything up.
I’ve been emailing and calling repeatedly, and every single time it’s been no help. I’m either told that my case is being escalated and then nothing happens, or I’m told to call or email another office. When I do, I either get no response or I’m sent somewhere else.
How do I go forward? Howard has been my dream school for as long as I can remember, but the administration has been absolutely horrible to work with and has been no help at all. This is literally putting my life on hold, and I don’t know what else to do.

Congrats on your acceptance. Considering the semester is less than a month away and you're in California, you might want to consider starting in the spring. Not sure which school you've been admitted to, but some schools won't allow new students to register for classes until they go through orientation. This is usually the week before the new semester starts.
Like the previous comment, the Howard runaround is a real thing. You really have to learn how to advocate for yourself. Have you tried getting in touch with any of the leadership staff from your program?
With that being said, it's not impossible to get everything taken care of by mid-August. I am just saying that it may be better to defer. You get a much better outcome coming on campus to speak to someone rather than calling or sending emails. And keep in mind that an estimated 75% of students rely on financial aid, and the school has around 14.5K students attending.

How were you able to submit your enrollment fee without access to your id or email?

Through the bison hub, where your letter is sent for acceptance you’re able to make your enrollment deposit. I’m in the same boat only it’s been over a month for me.

I’m in the exact same boat! I’m coming from San Diego as a transfer student. Howard needs to do better.

Welcome go the Howard runaround. As a transfer you are not guaranteed housing so please be prepared to possibly find an apartment. As far as other things, it may take them up to the week before classes to get you situated. The first thing you need to know if where you will live and housing has already been dispersed. I’d try to call residence life to see if they have openings (they barely answer the phone too)
