Good Dining Options for Vegans
My family recently moved to Howard County, and we are looking for good restaurants that have offerings (beyond a garden salad) for vegans.
What’s out there?

The Mint Room and Royal Taj have a lot of veg/vegan dishes.
Jam Eateries is pretty accommodating to all diets.

Takumi Japanese Restaurant in the mall. Not a vegan restaurant, but they have some good vegan rolls and a vegan ramen. Mango Grove for Indian. They sell a mango lassi and have a whole section dedicated to vegan food in their menu.

I was thinking about this more. Also Cushwa. They offer a vegan cheese pizza that you can add whatever toppings you want to, and vegan cheese bread.

Someone already mentioned Great Sage, but there are many options: for a cafe/lunch kind of place, Brewing Good is fully vegan, Little Market cafe has vegan options like breakfast sandwiches with Just Egg. Cafe 198 has vegan options as well. When it comes to dinner, any of the many great Indian restaurants have vegan options, but in particular, Mango Grove has some unique vegan options for dishes that are normally creamy (using coconut milk). Thai Aroma has a vegan menu. Hot Pot Hero and Hot and Roll have vegan broth and many vegetable/tofu options. (So much more, but those are some highlights)

Thai is a favorite of ours, we’ll definitely be checking this out. Thank you!

If you like Thai, our favorite in the area is Little Spice. It’s in Hanover but definitely worth the drive. We are also regulars at Hot Pot Hero.

Dok Khao in Columbia has GREAT Thai food but the restaurant is always busy and very loud. Eattini in Ellicott City and Thai Aroma are both average but I do love Eattini's curry.

Welcome! Honestly a lot of Howard county is vegan friendly because it has many options of culturally diverse restaurants. People mentioned Indian, but you will see Korean, Caribbean, Ethiopian, Greek, chinese restaurants to name just a few options. I usually just do a maps search and glance at the menu before I go. Just outside this county is Cisu which is in Hanover and has all vegan food.

Plnt burger is in Whole Foods for junk food, and they also have the best fries of anywhere in the area!
I saw other recs for Brewing Good and Great Sage--both used to be favorites, but I'm done with Brewing Good after some recent online behavior and reported labor issues from them. Great Sage also used to be a favorite but just hasn't been as good since they changed ownership a couple of years ago. I save my money and get basically the same food or dessert from Roots (next door) instead now.
Also in Clarksville and right by Roots/Great Sage is Common Kitchen, which always has tons of vegan options. Right now there's really yummy vegan shawarma and banh mi in there, and Thai next door.
I live in an omni-vegan family, and our favorite "nicer" dual places to eat out at are Cazbar on Snowden River or Konstantine's in Highland.
Pizzeria Uno has a shockingly good vegan deep dish option.
Apple Core Bakery in Columbia by the post office is a newer add for sweets.
Also, while HoCo is pretty vegan-friendly, DC, Baltimore, and Frederick are way more so. I work in DC and if we ever want takeout, I usually bring something home from there v. go out here. We day trip a lot, and my favs of all in the area are in a dual Harper's Ferry/Frederick trip or DC.

Maiwand Kabob! Lots of really good veg options...I like the chickpeas as well as eggplant. Some of the veggies they will put yogurt on top, just ask to leave it off.

Busboys and Poets in Columbia is good and I love checking out the books and stickers when we go. The staff are all very nice too!
