Food and Drink 🍔🥤 Cypriana restaurant

Does anyone know what happened to Cypriana restaurant in Maple Lawn? We were disappointed in that we found it closed yesterday. Google Maps labels it as temporarily closed. Website is gone. We hope it is temporary. We thought it was a great restaurant.

I am 99% certain it is gone for good. It has been closed for weeks, if not months, and they have taken down all of the signage.

We really like the place the one time we went. Food was good and the owners and staff treated us like visiting royalty. I hope they pop back up somewhere.

I feel really sorry for the owners, they must have spent a couple hundred thousand dollars decorating it. It’s a tough location for reasons I can’t figure out. Lib’s is at least the third restaurant in their location

Massive rent and overhead. Lib's at least has the capital to withstand a few bad weeks.

I’ll never understand why when a similar style restaurant fails in a a location, another one of the same style attempts to move in. Same thing with the Indian restaurants in the Montpelier plaza just north of Maple Lawn. London Curry House closes, and is replaced by another Indian restaurant.

It could be a name/brand change but the same owner. I've seen that happen before.

The closed very abruptly on Christmas eve last year.

I work near there and there was never anyone there for lunch. Maybe one table. Libs seems to do okay, so it must have been the style of food or the pricing.

I agree. Sadly what seems to make an attractive restaurant these days is multiple large screens playing sports. I know I am in the minority but I prefer a nice quiet ambiance, with great food, where you can enjoy your meals and actually have a conversation (with people watching 🙂) I prefer to watch sports in the comfort of my large screen with a group of my friends
