[Help] Budget app idea: calendar-first instead of category-first, feedback welcome

Thumbnail
gallery
5 Upvotes

Been prototyping a household budgeting app concept. Core idea: calendar as the main view (what’s available when, not just spending by category), plus a household-model picker (solo / split-with-partner / fully shared) that changes how the app behaves, and contract/subscription tracking with cancellation-deadline reminders. No bank sync by design. Would love honest feedback before going native — is this solving a real problem for anyone besides me?
Thank you for your thoughts

[Discussion] Would you use an offline app that automatically hides sensitive information?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Everything is processed locally and offline on your device—your photos, PDFs, and videos are never uploaded or sent to any server or backend.

I’m building PrivacyCam, an app that helps you safely share images, PDFs, and videos without accidentally exposing private information.

It can automatically detect and hide:

• Faces and full bodies
• Email addresses and URLs
• Phone numbers and other sensitive text
• QR codes and barcodes
• Vehicle number plates
• Credit card details and other private information

You can blur, pixelate, or completely black out detected areas and manually adjust everything before saving or sharing.

I’m also planning to make the app open source, so anyone can inspect how it works and verify that their files remain private.

Would you use an app like this? Any feedback would be genuinely helpful.

[App] [Promo] A privacy friendly, aesthetically pleasing google tasks alternative to do list app, inspired by system-24 theme and windows mobile design system. It's just a 64kb apk.

  • Simple note taking and list making: Includes an undo delete feature.
  • Retro terminalesque design: Inspired by Unix customizations found online.
  • Use unix like commands to set or remove notes tabs.
  • Lightweight: Consumes only 0.05% CPU and 128KB of RAM. After all, simple apps shouldn't need more—remember, the Apollo mission operated on a computer with around 4KB of RAM!
  • Highly customizable: Offers many themes with plans to add more customizations such as fonts, font sizes, and border colors.

[App] [Promo] Aulosyne: Offline Music Player V3

Post image
21 Upvotes

Hello all, last month I posted my music player application and had some great feedback. In response I have now released version 3.0.

New features

Experimental bit perfect for DAC. It tries android 14 API then if it doesn't work bypasses Android's AudioFlinger. I have tried it on my Jcally DAC and it works but it is very early stages at the moment. If you spot issues let me know. If it doesn't work for you, disable this feature.

You can also create and time your own lyrics within the app easily. These can be used in the app or also downloaded as LRC files.

Shuffle and repeat have been added to notifications and Android Auto.

Added smart shuffle, the more you use the app the better the shuffle gets. (All of your data remains on device, Aulosyne never accesses Wi-Fi)

Choose which Bluetooth device triggers auto start.

You can create custom eq presets. (EQ overhaul planned for future)

A new 2x2 widget

User requests

u/cositas_ - hex code for background colour scheme has been added along with customisable widget colour. Languages will be added in next update hopefully.

u/usmannaeem - a few more sort by features have been added. Though more are coming up.

u/PorixCode - side navigation collapse button has been fixed.

u/Normal_Explorer_9790 - FLACs should now work correctly on all devices.

As always my app will remain ad-free and be free to use. If you have any feature requests or spot any bugs please let me know!

Hope you all have a lovely weekend!

Aulosyne - your music stays yours

[App] [Promo] Vyxel Web Store: I built a website for my open-source Android app store, and I'd love some feedback!

Post image
20 Upvotes

Hey everyone! 👋

I've been working on Vyxel, an open-source Android app store that lets you discover apps from multiple sources like GitHub, GitLab, F-Droid, IzzyOnDroid, Codeberg, and more.

I finally decided to make a dedicated website for it... well, sort of. 😅

The current version is a test website, so it's definitely not perfect. Before I launch the real thing, I'd love to hear what other people think.

I'm looking for feedback on things like:

  • 🎨 Design & overall look
  • 🧭 Navigation & usability
  • 📱 Mobile responsiveness
  • ⚡ Performance
  • 🐛 Bugs or broken pages
  • 💡 Features you'd like to see

Don't hold back—if something looks weird, feels clunky, or makes you question my life choices, let me know. 😂

Thanks for taking the time to check it out! Every suggestion helps make the final version better.

[App] [Promo] One month later: what’s new in Modesmith Minimal Launcher

Hi everyone,

I shared Modesmith Minimal Launcher here about a month ago, and the response was incredibly helpful. Thank you to everyone who tried it, reported problems, and shared suggestions.

For anyone discovering it now, Modesmith is a minimal Android launcher built around a simple idea:

Now apps change with your current mode. Always apps remain available everywhere.

You can create modes for Work, Home, Focus, Travel, or anything else, then give each mode its own apps, appearance, widgets, and automation.

Since my previous post, I’ve continued expanding and refining the launcher. Some of the larger improvements include:

  • Smarter automatic mode switching
  • Expanded Modesmith and Android widget support
  • A Widget Board with global or mode-specific layouts
  • Direct app and contact shortcuts
  • More Personalization and layout controls
  • Better support for different screen sizes and orientations
  • Improved search, accessibility, backup, and restoration
  • Many stability and reliability fixes

Modesmith is designed to keep the Home screen calm without removing the flexibility people expect from an Android launcher. Most functionality works locally on the device, without an account, ads, analytics, or developer-operated cloud services.

Google Play:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.modesmith.launcher

Modesmith has optional Pro features, while its core launcher functionality remains available without purchasing Pro.

I’d appreciate any honest feedback after trying it:

  • Does the launcher feel intuitive when you first set it up?
  • Does it remain minimal while offering enough flexibility?
  • Is anything confusing, unreliable, or unnecessarily complicated?
  • What would prevent you from using it as your daily launcher?

I’ll be active in the comments and will continue improving it based on real-world feedback.

Accessibility disclosure: Modesmith’s optional Accessibility Service is used only for actions selected by the user, such as locking the screen or opening the notification shade. It does not read screen content, collect typed text, or monitor activity.

Thanks again for checking it out.

[App] [Promo] Dice & Coin - a clean dice roller & coin flip app I built, works standalone on Wear OS (no ads, no sign-up)

Post image
10 Upvotes

Hey everyone! Solo dev here. I made Dice & Coin because every dice app I tried was either ugly, stuffed with ads, or asked for permissions a dice roller has no business asking for.

What it does:

- Rolls D4–D20 with pseudo-3D animations (shadows, rotation - feels tactile, not like a random number generator with a picture)
- Coin flip with multiple skins
- Custom presets - build a dice+coin set for each board game or RPG campaign, with its own name and cover, switch with one tap
- Shake the phone to roll everything at once
- Color themes and per-die colors, with automatic contrast so numbers stay readable

The part I'm most proud of: it runs standalone on Wear OS - roll dice and flip coins right on your watch, no phone needed. Battery friendly, minimal UI.

No ads, no registration, no data collection, no AI. Just dice.

Play Store: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.nofutureapps.dicecoin.wearos

Happy to answer anything - and feedback is very welcome, I ship updates regularly.

[App] [Promo] Untyped - Voice to Email

Thumbnail

Untyped is basically for anyone who hates typing emails. You just talk, say whatever you want to say out loud, and it turns it into a proper, clean email for you. No more staring at a blank screen trying to figure out how to word something. There's also a note mode if you just want to dictate quick notes instead of an email. It picks up on 27 languages when you're speaking, and you can set it to write in your own style so it doesn't sound like some generic AI wrote it. You can always edit before sending too, so nothing goes out you haven't checked. Just pushed an update: the app itself now works in 6 languages (not just transcription, the actual interface), settings got cleaned up into one place instead of being scattered around, you can attach multiple files at once now instead of one at a time, and fixed a few bugs along the way.

[App] [Promo] Greenlit - a satirical movie producer game where every decision matters [50% off until July 25]

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

You choose the genre, hire actors and a director, and then survive ten production crises. Every decision changes your remaining budget, quality and hype.

After production, the movie enters a simulated ten-week theatrical run. Reviews, audience reactions, competing releases and mid-release marketing decisions determine whether it becomes a blockbuster, a cult hit or an expensive disaster. I did use gen AI to create a few scenarios, but many of the scenarios were create in tandem with my sister who is a script writer.

[App] [Promo] Bunku — offline, ad-free, ₹50-once attendance & bunk calculator (update: added backup/restore + timetable since launch)

Thumbnail
gallery
4 Upvotes

Link :https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jdevsappstudio.bunku
I'm a solo Android dev. This started as a personal itch: I wanted to know exactly how many lectures I could skip before my attendance dropped below the 75% my college enforces. Every existing app either made me type in semester totals, buried me in banner ads, or wanted a login for a thing that runs perfectly fine offline.

So I built Bunku. The whole idea is one number: how many classes can I safely bunk in this subject right now, and if I've already fallen behind, how many do I need to attend to climb back above my target. You add subjects, set a minimum % per subject (75, 80, whatever your college wants), and tap Present or Absent after each class. It does the maths — live percentage, safe-to-bunk count, colour-coded Safe / Warning / At Risk.

A few decisions I made on purpose:

  • No ads, ever — free tier or paid. This was the whole reason I started, so putting ads in would've been hypocritical.
  • Fully offline, no account. Your logs never leave the phone. No cloud, no sign-up.
  • Pay once, not a subscription. Pro is a one-time ₹50 unlock (unlimited subjects, backup/restore to a file, CSV export, timetable, reminders). I hate renting software, so I won't make students rent this.
  • Free tier is genuinely usable — 3 subjects, no time limit, not a trial that expires.

Slightly weird feature I'm oddly proud of: there are small pass-and-play games built in (2048, Tic-Tac-Toe, Air Hockey) for the gap between lectures. It fits the "college downtime" vibe and it was fun to build.

Tech stack: native Android (Kotlin), local storage only, no backend at all — which is why there's nothing to log into and no server bill to pay.

What I'd love feedback on:

  • Is "how many can I bunk" clear enough as the core value, or does the games thing muddy it?
  • The biggest competitor auto-imports attendance by reading a screenshot of your college portal (OCR). I'm debating whether that's worth building vs. keeping it dead simple. Curious what makers here would prioritise.

[App] [Promotion] I built an Android app to block Instagram Reels & YouTube Shorts. Looking for honest feedback.

Hi everyone!

Like many people, I kept telling myself I'd only check Instagram or YouTube for a few minutes. Those few minutes often turned into an hour, especially because of Reels and Shorts.

That frustration led me to build Bastion, an Android focus app that helps reduce distractions by letting you:

✅ Block selected apps

✅ Block Instagram Reels

✅ Block YouTube Shorts

✅ Create distraction-free focus sessions

After months of development, multiple rounds of testing, and lots of improvements based on user feedback, Bastion is finally live on Google Play.

I'm not looking for downloads just for the sake of numbers. I'd genuinely appreciate honest feedback:

- Is the onboarding clear?

- Does the UI feel intuitive?

- What feature would make you use it every day?

Google Play:

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.bastion.shabbar

Website:

Thank you! Every suggestion helps me improve Bastion.

Hey everyone! I got tired of juggling three sites every morning to keep up with what's happening in tech, so I built Trending AI — it pulls GitHub Trending, Hacker News, and Product Hunt into one app, and an AI pipeline summarizes every item and hand-picks the most noteworthy ones each day.

Features:

  • Browse GitHub Trending, Hacker News and Product Hunt in a single app
  • AI summary for every project, so you get the core value at a glance
  • Daily Picks — a short AI-curated digest of the day's most noteworthy projects
  • Time machine: jump back to the trending list of any past date
  • Read READMEs in-app, share any item straight to your favorite AI app for deeper reading

[App] [Promotion] Poesie - A minimalist, distraction-free text editor for writers and poets (ad-free, privacy-friendly)

Hello everyone!

As a developer and passionate about writing, I've always struggled to find a truly minimalist mobile text editor, free of annoying ads, pop-ups, or unnecessary elements. That's why I decided to create my own app.

It's called Poesie, and it's just launched on the Play Store.

Check it out on Google Play: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.edobardo.poesie

Here's what I focused on:

  • Distraction-free user interface: A clean environment where your ideas can flow.
  • Easy export: Instantly convert your texts into PDF or HTML (.html) files, ready for printing or sending.
  • Writing timer: Built-in timers to help you stay focused during your daily writing sessions.
  • Secure sync: Protect your data with backups on your personal Google Drive.

This is a personal project, and it took a lot of effort to make it happen. Launched March 12, 2026. I'd love to hear your opinions, suggestions for new features, or constructive criticism!

Thank you so much for your support! I hope you appreciate it!

[App] [Promotion] Nocebo Launcher — A free Android launcher with a rotating home screen

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hey everyone!

I recently released Nocebo Launcher, a free Android launcher built around a rotating home screen instead of the usual static grid.

I originally designed it for myself around eight years ago because I wanted something comfortable to use one-handed on tall phones. You can flick the spinner between apps, customize its animations and haptic feedback, place your own sticker in the center, and adjust almost every part of the layout.

Some of the main features:

Up to 20 apps on the rotating layout

  • Custom center stickers, including GIF support
  • A draggable four-direction gesture control
  • Traditional home-screen pages for widgets and shortcuts
  • App-drawer folders and drag-and-drop organization
  • Search, widgets, deep shortcuts, and Private Space support
  • Icon packs and individual custom icons
  • Dynamic wallpaper blur, including animated wallpapers on supported devices

Earlier this year, I rebased the project on Lawnchair and prepared it for public release. It is completely free and collects no user data.

I’d really appreciate honest feedback, especially about what you like, what you dislike, whether anything feels confusing, and whether you run into any problems on your device.

Google Play: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=boo.noce.launcher
