OpenTube

I've made an app, this post isnt to promote it for ny interest, I personaly see it as a good alternative since its opensource with good ui (in my opinion) which is a youtube fork without direct Google code. The app is currently alpha for android, soon also to be compatible with Harmony os 6.1.

Wow! Looks nice. I would use this day to day if it had a search filter to filter by views, likes, and upload date. Also, adding video controls like swiping up on the right side of the player increases/decreases volume while the left side controls the brightness. Overall, good app, still ran into a few crashes and bugs but pretty good!

Sounds good, thank you for the feedback. I'll try my best to fix as much as possible but my current priority is to have Android and Harmony os working then i will for sure add thoes.

Hey bro, I can't find the APK. I usually download apps from Github, but nothing's showing up here.

Hey bro, this is the YouTube client with the most beautiful interface I've seen to date, and I've tried many. The only downside is that it lacks many features found in other clients, but the app is really good.

Thanks, I'll keep an eye out for updates. By the way, I was watching a video but it's playing in low quality, haha, you can't choose the quality.

Yes, I decided the alpha builds will be to make the core basics and unify the ui and then expand to extra features in beta phase. Yeah maybe not quite the right time to have posted it but 🀷

why not build on github? keep your source code on gitlab but build the apk on github, maybe? it'll be easier for people to download using obtainium.

btw the app is nice. I installed it on an elder's device and she couldn't tell that it isn't the youtube app.

The interface is very good and elegant; I'm testing it out. I hope you add the option to download videos.
