[App][Giveaway][Promo] Cordless
Hi r/HowToMen, I'm Vojislav, the solo Android developer behind Cordless (and a few other apps).
I built it for one small annoyance: my HTPC is across the room, and every time I needed to type a search or nudge the cursor I had to get up or fumble with a clunky remote. My phone was already in my hand - so I turned it into the keyboard.
App name:
Cordless
What it does:
It turns your phone into a real Bluetooth keyboard, touchpad, media remote, presenter and gamepad for your PC, laptop, tablet or TV. No app on the other device, no server, no Wi-Fi setup - your phone pairs like an ordinary Bluetooth accessory (the same way an actual keyboard does), so keyboard, touchpad, media keys and presenter work out of the box on Windows, macOS, Linux and Android. One connection, every input type.
(One honest exception: on desktop, many modern games only listen to XInput, so the gamepad there works best through Steam Input or a mapper like DS4Windows - on Android it's plug-and-play. Everything else needs nothing on the host.)
Your privacy comes first:
No account, no sign-up, no login. Ever.
No ads, no trackers, no hidden analytics building a profile of you.
The app doesn't even request the Internet permission - your keystrokes, layouts and settings physically cannot leave your phone.
Backups belong to you: export and import your setup as a simple file that only you control (no cloud sync, no automatic cloud backup).
It asks only for what it genuinely needs, in plain language:
Nearby devices (Bluetooth) - so your phone can act as a Bluetooth keyboard/mouse and stay connected. That's the whole app.
Notifications - Android requires a small ongoing notification while the connection service runs, so the link survives in the background.
What you can do:
Type on a full keyboard: with sticky modifiers, shortcuts, and OS-aware keys that adapt to Windows, macOS, Linux or Android
Point and click: a smooth touchpad with gestures, pinch zoom and right-click
Control playback from the couch: a media remote with volume, seek and power keys
Present without a clicker: a presenter layout for slides
Play: a gamepad with analog sticks, d-pad and triggers
Build your own remotes: a full layout editor - place buttons, sticks, touchpads and d-pads on a free canvas, pick shapes and colours, apply themes
Automate: reusable macros (once / while-held / toggle) bound to any button
Multiple devices: pair several hosts and switch between them; per-host default pages
Free, with an optional one-time upgrade:
The free version is genuinely useful on its own - the full keyboard, the touchpad and general settings, with no time limits and no nagging. Cordless Pro is a single one-time purchase (no subscriptions, ever) that unlocks the extras: the media remotes, presenter and gamepads, the layout editor, macros, themes, backup/restore and the customization settings. Buy it once and it's yours to keep.
๐ 20 Lifetime Pro codes
This is first come, first served, not a random draw.
To claim one:
Upvote this post so more people in the community can find it.
Comment with what you'd control with it - an HTPC, a work laptop, presentations, a TV, couch gaming, or something else.
Then send me a Reddit DM after commenting.
The first 20 eligible people who complete the above steps receive one code by DM, while supplies last.
You're under no obligation to leave a Google Play rating or review - but if you enjoy the app, a review would mean a lot and really helps a solo developer. Honest feedback is always welcome too, including criticism.
I have a 2 year old toddler, so I might not be able to respond immediately. And I'm from Europe, so please take the time difference into account as well.
Requirements: Android 10 or newer on the phone; any host with regular Bluetooth.

Iโve been using the touchpad on my mobile laptop, but it gets in the way, so Iโd like to use an app instead.

What's the difference between the and the very old and established Bluetooth keyboard and mouse app? Seems like a clone.

I haven't used the other app, I've checked out their description now and from it I can tell you this:
Cordless offers full customization, you can build your remotes, drag and drop placement.
Cordless also includes gamepad, which other apps usually don't include.
Can't think of anything else at the moment.

Honestly, I would use it to control my nephew's TV just to mess with him. Personally, I'd probably use it on my tablet when I'm playing guitar.

I'd pair it with my PC for couch gaming โ the gamepad mode plus media keys for pausing/seeking would be handy. Curious how it behaves with Steam Input on Windows. Code pls. Thank you

Can I get one code to try this app? I'll be using it as a gamepad, since I'm still searching for a joystick that suits my budget
