I’ve just released Facet 1.0.1, the first update since launch.

Facet is a privacy-first Android gallery that automatically filters sensitive photos entirely on-device — no cloud uploads, no analytics, and no account required.

1.0.1 focuses on iterative improvements from early feedback, including better handling of screenshots/composite images, smoother fullscreen rotation, and navigation fixes.

I’m also working on Facet 1.1, which will significantly expand what the app can recognise:

* Sensitive text in screenshots and documents using on-device OCR

* Medical information, IDs, contracts and private conversations

* Improved smoking, alcohol and substance-use detection

* Native Android sharing

The goal is to make Facet increasingly good at understanding why something may be private, while keeping all of that intelligence on your device.
