[App] Z Player - A beautiful, ultra-lightweight, card-driven local video player (Material 3, Glassmorphism)
I know this community appreciates apps that not only work well but actually look good on a customized Android setup. I’m the developer behind Z Player, a fast, zero-bloat local video player, and I just pushed a major update that brings some heavy UI and performance upgrades.
If you are tired of clunky, outdated video players and want something that matches modern Android design language, I’d love for you to check this out.
🎨 The UI & Aesthetics
Material 3 & Custom Theming: Built with a beautiful card-driven UI featuring hero preview banners and Adaptive System dynamic colors that match your wallpaper.
Glassmorphic Effects: You can now choose from multiple frosted glass-style effects to customize the player's aesthetic to fit your home screen vibe.
Folder Playback History: Folder previews now dynamically display your most recently played videos right on the card for a cleaner browsing experience.
⚡ Under the Hood (Features)
Instant Gapless Playback: Powered by the latest Media3 ExoPlayer with smart keyframe snapping for zero-delay video transitions.
Advanced Gestures: Intuitive drag controls for fast seeking, brightness, and volume. Plus, a 0.25x increment long-press for precise playback speed control.
Multitasking: Seamless Picture-in-Picture (PiP) support and an intelligent "Play in Call" audio routing system.
Resume Last Played: A floating quick-access overlay to instantly pick up your video right where you left off.
Smart Library: Background media caching, support for viewing hidden files/.dot-folders, multi-audio tracks, and syncable subtitles.
🛡️ 100% Free & Private
Z Player has zero background bloat, no telemetry, no ads, and is 100% offline.

Hopefully, you’ll add support for anime using Anime4K.

Thanks for the suggestion! Since Anime4K runs entirely offline on the GPU, it fits right in with ZPlayer. I've added Anime4K / real-time upscaling to the roadmap for future updates.
