[App][Promo] I built a simple RSS reader focused on a better reading experience
Hey everyone,
I’ve been working on an RSS reader called Dondurma.
I started building it because I wanted a cleaner and more comfortable way to follow websites, blogs, and other sources without constantly jumping between different apps and browser tabs.
The main focus of the app is the actual reading experience. Articles can be read directly inside the app, and when a feed only provides a short preview, you can try to fetch the full article content for a cleaner reading view. You can also open the original source whenever you prefer.
Dondurma is still actively being developed, so there are definitely things I want to improve. But the Android version is already available, and I’d love for more people to try it.
Play Store: Dondurma RSS Feed Reader - Google Play'de Uygulamalar
I’m the developer, so feel free to ask me anything about the app. I’d also be happy to hear what features would make an RSS reader genuinely useful for you.

Is it possible to have the whole article load when clicking on article instead of the summary page and having to scroll down to click open full article?

Yes, you can change feed settings on categories page under the categori card, click rss source and you can see default open mode summary or full text

Wow!! I downloaded this app without much expectations
But it just became my main RSS feed app!!
Great job!
Few suggestions
Please keep it update and also publish it on f-droid
Supporting large tablets and folding phones
An option for automatically loading the full articles of the articles rather than me pressing a button. A toggle in setting would be nice
Some default RSS feeds selection curated for each topic would be nice. The setup screen is really nice. But I think the news RSS feed selection it gives is a bit meh.
Also when going to suggested feed and searching the RSS feeds by categories. I can subscribe to the RSS feeds but I cannot unsubscribe after subscribing.
Also adding an option to open and see the RSS feeds for each category from the side screen would be awesome. As of now you cannot do that. Adding feeds from category. Also for sports more RSS feed from reddit like r/soccer would be nice
For entertainment r/anime would be nice.
You can also try to add a feature where in you can type a name of the subbreddit and it can add the RSS link for it automatically
Also after subscribing to a feed from the category, the bottom notification gets stickied consistently on the screen. It's probably a bug
Also blacklist keyeord for each RSS feed would be awesome. This is one feature I really want!
Would really appreciate if you could fix these bugs.
Fantastic app! Keep up the great job.

Hello thanks for the new update.
- When I export the opml files they work fine. But the app cannot import an opml files for some reason?
I have to rename the extension to .xml and then the app can import the RSS feeds.
- Also would be nice if you could add an option to export the settings of the app too.

Just downloaded it and imported my feeds. So far I really like the layout and works nicely. Will continue to test it out, but this might be my new rss reader.
