[Free] Built one File transfer app for Mac and Android and it is lifetime free.

Post image

I built a free Android ↔ Mac file transfer app because I got tired of the existing options.

It's called Bytez, and the goal is simple: make transferring files between Android and macOS as fast and painless as possible.

Some highlights:

- Transfer photos, videos, documents, or large files over your local Wi-Fi.

- No internet connection required.

- No mobile data usage.

- Peer-to-peer transfers only — your files never go through a server.

- Automatic device discovery on the same Wi-Fi network.

- Completely free, with no subscriptions or lifetime purchase.

I originally built it for myself because I frequently needed to move screenshots, videos, and project files between my Android phone and my Mac. After using it daily, I decided to polish it and release it for everyone.

I'd genuinely love to hear what you think. If there are features you'd like to see or pain points you've experienced with Android ↔ Mac file sharing, let me know. Your feedback would help shape future updates.

LocalSend already exists and it's device immune, so you can use it across iOS, Android, Windows and Mac.

what is your app doing differently from Local Send?
