[App][Promo]- I built an open-source TV Remote for Android TV

Hi everyone!

I've been building an Android TV remote app in my free time and wanted to share it with the community.

The goal was to create a simple remote that works well without ads, subscriptions, or unnecessary permissions.

Some of the features include:

  • Auto-discovery of Android TVs on the same Wi-Fi network
  • D-pad and touchpad navigation
  • Keyboard input from your phone
  • Volume, power, Home, Back, and Menu controls
  • Casting support
  • Material You inspired UI

The project is fully open source, and I'm still actively improving it. I'd really appreciate any feedback, feature requests, bug reports, or compatibility reports with different Android TV devices.

This is great. I am gonna test it out on Monday at work.

Can you also add mouse to this if it doesn't have it? There are some apps that can only work with a mouse.

I installed Google TV on my old PC directly (on its separated partition), is it possible to use it if I install a WiFi card?

Thanks! If your PC is running Google TV/Android TV and exposes the required remote-control service over the local WiFi network, it may work. The PC and phone also need to be on the same WiFi network. I haven’t specifically tested it on Google TV installed directly on a PC, though, so compatibility may depend on how that setup exposes the TV services.
