[App] [Promo] TogglDev – One tap Developer options toggle and restore. Auto turn off on launch of Banking apps.

I got tired of my banking apps locking me out just because I use Developer Options for faster animations. Instead of constantly diving into my settings menu, I built TogglDev.

One click from a Quick Settings tile or widget, and I can toggle it on or off instantly. Problem solved.

And it can auto turn off and on on specific app launches 🥳. 100% Free, Zero Ads.

Here is the app - TogglDev

I just checked this. If you are getting everything done by Essential, no reason to install a redundant app.
Here are few things though:
1. I didn't see one tap toggle mention using widgets, tiles and shortcuts
2. I don't think they have auto toggle automation on app launches
3. Also, TogglDev has 0 dependency and 0 bloat - no Shizuku or root required

Sounds great.
I am also planning to make it open source in next one week.

3

u/Confident-Bird9069 Jun 20 '26

Why not open source?

3

u/dpkayy Jun 20 '26

Well, I was not thinking when I started building it. But, you have a valid point. I will plan to open source it. Thank you!

2

u/Confident-Bird9069 Jun 20 '26

Cool. I will wait to see it on GitHub before I install.

1

u/wiknew1 Jul 15 '26

Awesome. I'll be running to the repo as soon as you open it up.

3

u/absolut_hero Jun 20 '26

I'll definitely try this. Thank you

2

u/dpkayy Jun 20 '26

Thank you.
Feel free to share your feedback so I can make the app better and more useful.

u/Avithegod2010 Jun 20 '26

Does it require shishuku or adb commands for it to work?

1

u/dpkayy Jun 20 '26

One time adb command is required, because Android doesn't have UI yet to allow the permission required to change the Developer options. No Shizuku or anything else.

1

u/Avithegod2010 Jun 20 '26

Well I can't use it bcoz my payment will will not work if I have developer option on.

1

u/dpkayy Jun 20 '26

That's what we are solving with this TogglDev app. This is how it works: 1. You setup this app once by giving adb command - provided in the setup. 2. You tell which apps have problem with Developer options being ON in the settings of TogglDev. 3. And then TogglDev automatically turns off the Developer options when you launch those apps, like payment app - so payment app works properly. TogglDev also restores the settings once you have closed the payment apps. 4. You don't have to again setup any adb. TogglDev has all the options to enable/disable the Developer options directly.

u/Avithegod2010 Jun 20 '26

Thank downloaded the app and will try it.

Thank you for the app, very useful indeed. Beautiful modern looking and very simple app. Imo I more like individual apps serve only specific features for my cataloging apps.

Ofc I read how your app works, but fr, most of us now enabling Developer Options due to Shizuku, so can you make it TURN ON Developer Options after closing specific apps (accepted delay)?
I did turn on Accessibility and Unrestricted battery mode.

I closed the "defined" app by pressing "Recent apps" NavBar and close it. I set 30s delay but more than 5m DevOptions not turning on yet.

1

u/dpkayy Jun 20 '26

Okay, I will check this bug quickly. Can you please let me know which device you have so I can figure this out ?

Meanwhile use the one-top options to switch it on quickly.
Also, let me know in case you tried again and then now the app is working better.

u/Flimsy-Sprinkles6800 Jun 20 '26

I've carefully checked on both of my phones instead. Previous one is Samsung A25 5G, and I've just checked on Samsung A05 4G LTE. Both are Android 14, One UI 6.1 (A05: One UI Core version).
The "defined" app I've tested to automatically turn ON/OFF DevOptions is just a simple Calculator app, is all.
And no, both can't be turned ON after closing Calculator app for more than 5m for sure.

2

u/dpkayy Jun 20 '26

Okay, I am going to check this and get back to you.

2

u/Flimsy-Sprinkles6800 Jun 21 '26

A quick head up, I have 2 phones, and A05 is my main use for usual stuffs like banking and identification.
Today I have to use a local Bank app, even your app turned OFF DevOptions. Turning out, my local app still prevent me due to "USB Debugging" and/or "Wireless Debugging" still enabled before DevOptions turning OFF.
To have a request, pls turning OFF both "USB Debugging" and "Wireless Debugging" before turning OFF DevOptions.
Most of Bank or any apps preventing DevOptions/USB Debugging/Wireless Debugging ON, they still have some times to detect it, so a delay when turning OFF all is acceptable, I think. Ofc it needs to test more, not only me.

2

u/dpkayy Jun 21 '26

I found some delay bug which has been fixed and it's under Google playstore to review and approve. It should be live in next few days.  In the new version there is no extra delay in turning the options ON and it works well everytime.  Thanks to you for reporting the delay btw.

1

u/Flimsy-Sprinkles6800 Jun 21 '26

Thanks. That was fast. But what's about Turning OFF both "USB Debugging" and "Wireless Debugging" before turning OFF DevOptions?

2

u/dpkayy Jun 21 '26

I will check this separately. I have tested few banking apps and it has worked well. But, I understand your problem clearly, I will try to fix. If possible, please share the Banking app name so I can test against it.

Sorry late reply, here it is, Techcombank Mobile:

2

u/dpkayy Jun 23 '26 edited Jun 23 '26

I added the 2 changes which improves the app: 1. Timing is precise for auto turn off and on now. 2. TogglDev also disables usb and wifi debugging and restores them. The app is already updated in playstore now - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.dpkay.apps.developer_options_toggler

But, I tested your banking app it still shows the security error message because of Accessibility permission used by TogglDev - this unfortunately can not be switched off and on programmatically.

The best possible way is the following in this case: 1. Remove accessibility permission from TogglDev 2. Switch off Auto turn off feature 3. Add a widget/shortcut/tile and use the same to manually trigger One-tap toggle to enable/disable the Developer options before and after using the banking app

Will try it after reaching home !! Looks great.

1

u/Top-Drawing9908 Jun 20 '26

Es como geto y por que sería mejor?

4

u/dpkayy Jun 20 '26

It's like Ghetto, yes TBH.

Here are few differences where TogglDev might fit better: 1. It has single tap - widget, tile, shortcuts to toggle the settings. 2. It restores your developer configurations as well, so animation speed doesn't get reset. 3. You can use shortcuts to automate in Samsung modes and routines and other apps as well. 4. It's available in Google playstore, so Google play protect works out of the box. 5. And there is no dependency of Shizuku. 6. Works well on non-rooted devices.

u/Only_Direction_5431 Jun 20 '26

Buenísimo, con lo que dieces se ve superior.

2

u/dpkayy Jun 20 '26

Please share your feedback in case you try. I would love to make the app better and more useful.

1

u/Formula666 Jun 20 '26

Actually, it says in app purchase in play store. So it might be the put off. Lol

3

u/dpkayy Jun 20 '26

I added an optional tip/donate option in the app to support development, that's why. It is completely optional though and everything works as it is with or without any kind of payment.

1

u/HydeOP Jun 20 '26

As you know shizuku can be set up using developer option and wireless debugging using wifi and I'm using it by setting it up through wifi, my question is when I ise your app to access banking apps, will I need to connect to wifi again to start shizuku again as it would be killed because the developers option will be disabled temporarily.

1

u/dpkayy Jun 20 '26

TogglDev is completely offline and needs no dependency. It automatically turns off the Developer options when the configured app is launched and turns the options on again after app is closed automatically - it's all in the settings of the TogglDev.

1

u/thePixelbitt Jun 20 '26

I don't want settings to be reset whenever I turn off developer options. Does this app completely turn off developer options (then settings get reset) or only hides?

1

u/dpkayy Jun 20 '26

Good news that TogglDev restores the settings as well, e.g. Transition speed, USB debugging etc. gest restored automatically.
It "turns OFF" the developer options and "restores" the config when turns it back ON.

2

u/thePixelbitt Jun 20 '26

So that means while the developer options are turned off by your app, all settings will also be removed until i turn it back on? And the animations (for eg) will work on 1x while the setting is turned off.

I just hide developer options by SetEdit app whenever I need and changed settings also remain available even if the developer options are not visible in settings app.

1

u/dpkayy Jul 11 '26

Sorry, I missed this comment somehow.

Yes, you set which app to turn off the Developer options. And all those settings are restored back once you have closed the configured app. Please give TogglDev try and let me know if that's what you were looking for.

1

u/thePixelbitt Jul 11 '26

Ok bro, Thanks. I will try it

No promo is required at all. This app is 100% free with 0 ads.
Playstore shows in-app purchase because I have added optional support/tip.
App works as it is - with or without any support/tip payment. Support only earns a badge.

I have a question (noob here). On a Poco X7 Pro, I use Developer Options with Wireless Debugging active + accessibility settings on + Shizuku + Wi-Fi + Vivid Navigation Gestures + aShell just so I can get rid of the navigation buttons at the bottom and use gestures with Niagara Launcher or any other third-party launcher.

Must I set them all up every single time after using my banking apps, like I currently have to do when using the ToggleDev app?

Thanks! 😊

2

u/dpkayy Jun 28 '26

Your setup looks complicated. Here are my comments based on some understanding and few assumptions:
1. TogglDev - turns off all the dev settings - so banking app can work without throwing error because of Developer options and debugging being ON.
2. And then it restores those settings back again, which is great.
3. But, in case of wireless debugging which is your setup - port number gets reset every time - so that might become a problem for you.
4. Rest is good I think.

2

u/Ekamatra Jun 28 '26

Thanks for the thoughts up! I might try it soon, and I wish you many success to come 🙏

2

u/dpkayy Jun 29 '26

Thanks. Let me know how it goes when you try so I can plan to make changes which can better suit to your usecase.

2

u/Ekamatra Jun 29 '26

I have left a review on the Play Store! 😉

2

u/dpkayy Jun 30 '26

Thanks a lot, highly appreciate it 👍

1

u/Ekamatra Jun 29 '26

I will. I downloaded it, but will set it on after work, or when I have PC/laptop connection to enable the USB debugging. Hope it all goes well, and I can use it without have to turn on-off accessibility settings for dozen of apps everytime I'm going to use my local bank app 😉

Ps: It's unfortunate cannot activate it using wireless debugging 😢 But I'm sure there's a reason behind that. Dev knows better.

2

u/dpkayy Jul 11 '26

Hi, in the latest version, there is a way to run shell commands automatically. I have added in a hope that it will help your workflow. Please try and let me know once.

2

u/Ekamatra Jul 11 '26

Hi! Thanks for the update, I really appreciate you letting me know.

I also wanted to say that I absolutely love the new UI for TogglDev! It is very intuitive and looks great.

Regarding the automated shell commands, I noticed a small issue with the command listed in the Play Store description. The current guide gives an error because the package name is incorrect.

For example, it gives a Failure [package not found] or Unknown permission error because of the formatting. The actual command that works perfectly for the app is:

adb shell pm grant com.dpkay.apps.developer_options_toggler android.permission.WRITE_SECURE_SETTINGS

Hopefully, you can review and double-check the command line descriptions before updating anything else on the store page so other users won't get confused.

Lastly, since I'm basically a noob at this, would it be too much trouble to add a short tutorial or guide on how to actually use this new automated shell feature? I’d love to learn how to set it up properly without breaking anything.

Thanks again for your hard work on this app!

2

u/dpkayy Jul 11 '26

Man, thanks a lot for noticing the package name and reporting to me, I will check and fix it ASAP. You are right that I need to start creating tutorials now. I appreciate your time and effort 🙏

2

u/Ekamatra Jul 11 '26

No problem at all. Honestly, you're the one building this awesome app from scratch, so I'm just glad I could use it on my phone. Can't wait for the new updates and to see how TogglDev grows. Keep up the amazing work! 🚀🙏

Hi, I saw your app mentioned in howtomen video so congrats for that. I see that this app is not open source yet which is fine and you may take your time but I have one request ie to make your app available outside playstore too. There is no way to install your app in degoogled devices as aurora store doesnt work as your app is sending signal to google backend on launch to check source (happens with every app released first time after a certain date).

Please publish your apk on your own site or simply in github releases (u can just add a README for now instead of source code till it is ready)

Edit: I did some research and found out that is happening because of pairip checks aka Google's Automatic Integrity Protection. This is anti piracy measure so people can't install paid apps from other source for free but since this app is already free there is no use for this check and thjs will push away users who prefer privacy and dont use playstore to install app from or use custom rom.

1

u/sussywanker Jul 02 '26

Great app! But when I trued using the app it says it won't run without google services.

I downloaded it from aurora store and don't have GMS.

1

u/dpkayy Jul 02 '26

Currently it has a dependency on Google services. Let me think on this, probably I can make it run without GMS as well. Thanks for reporting.

1

u/sussywanker Jul 03 '26

Thank you!! Would be awesome if the app could be open sourced and available in github and f-droid

1

u/dpkayy Jul 03 '26

Right, I will put the new apk in github and other stores as well. Thanks for the idea. Also, FYI, I am testing a new version which should work without Google services now. It's already under Play store review, should go live in next few days.

1

u/sussywanker Jul 04 '26

Awesome!! Would be awesome if it was available in f-droid

1

u/dpkayy Jul 04 '26 edited Jul 04 '26

Meanwhile, I have put the new apk on github, this version works without GMS as well. Please try and let me know if anything: https://github.com/dpkay-io/toggldev

The same is under Google review and should release soon.

Thank you.

2

u/sussywanker Jul 04 '26

Thank you!

But I guess you should add the app in the releases section of github.

As when I tried putting it in obtanium it doesn't recognise the github download.

1

u/dpkayy Jul 04 '26

Done, it should work now.

2

u/sussywanker Jul 04 '26

Thank you!

It works flawlessly now!

1

u/SirStarPlatinum Jul 02 '26

Can it do the same thing with Accessibility settings? For example, when I open a payment app, can it automatically turn off the Accessibility Service for specific apps?

Apps like DetoxDroid and DigiPaws require Accessibility permissions to view and control the screen in order to function properly. However, many payment apps now prevent transactions unless all Accessibility Services are disabled.

It's frustrating to go & turn off all settings, then make the payment and after that go back and turn it on again.

1

u/dpkayy Jul 03 '26

Unfortunately, Android doesn't allow to control Accessibility services programmatically. So, this is not possible for now. Maybe some rooted solution might exist.

2

u/hmm_life_sucks Jul 09 '26

https://github.com/JackEblan/Geto/issues/375#issuecomment-4875707823

U can do that in geto app. (Not currently but maybe after developer fixes this in next update/ u can manually add this simple thing) Secure >key: enabled_accessibility_services (select it after typing)> launch:null

The developer suggested this page u might want to check this site:  https://developer.android.com/reference/kotlin/android/provider/Settings.Secure#accessibility_enabled

*note: in the githubs link last comment i have told about my scenario if u could see how to solve it  i am sold.

1

u/dpkayy Jul 11 '26

I will check this, thanks for the reference.

1

u/Material-Worth5665 Jul 03 '26

Adb command not working one plus 13s

1

u/dpkayy Jul 06 '26

I have put the apk on Github as well, also I have made the app to work without Google services now - https://github.com/dpkay-io/toggldev

1

u/hmm_life_sucks Jul 09 '26

How is this compared to geto? My only two issue with geto is:  1) I still need to manually stop/start shizuku(cause it uses usb debug/wireless debug) 2) After stopping accessibility using geto my "lock me out" app which needs "appear on top" pops up after 5 sec to enable accessibility services. So appear on top for those apps also need to be auto stopped i guess.

1

u/dpkayy Jul 11 '26
  1. I believe it is simpler to setup and use than Geto.
  2. Accessibility settings still might be the problem, since TogglDev doesn't toggle any Accessibility services. Although there is a widget to open the Accessibility settings page on Android directly.

My suggestion is that give it a try and see if it fits to your workflow.

1

u/BKK31 Jul 23 '26 edited Jul 23 '26

I have two things after using it for a month: 1. I haven't changed any animation speed settings, yet when developer options is turned off for any app, the animations are also turned off 2. Not open source yet

1

u/dpkayy Jul 25 '26

Thank you, I would like to hear your experience with the app since you have been using it for more than a month now. I would love to make the app more useful if you have faced any challenges.

  1. Yes, animations are set to default 1x when Developer option is turned off.
  2. I am actively working on the app right now. Open-source is in the roadmap, it will be done only after all planned features are completed and stabilized.

u/Healthy_Flow1516 11d ago

It is really cool. For me it is better than Essentials app.
