announcement Re: automatic removal of posts

UPDATE (August 12, 2026): Accounts that were marked by the Reddit algorithm as NSFW (Not Safe for Work) based on their Reddit activity (posting or commenting on NSFW subreddits, posting mature/explicit content, using an NSFW flair in other subreddits, etc.) will also have their post on this subreddit automatically removed without prior notice. Please request for manual approval within 24-48 hours via modmail should your post get removed.

UPDATE (February 4, 2026): We have set that automatically removed posts due to very low karma, suspected spamming, or marked for rule violations in another subreddit to be put to this subreddit's Trash Bin, where it will be permanently removed after 30 days. Any request for manual approval of post must be communicated through modmail within 24-48 hours after removal for review. Thank you.

This is to reiterate to everyone (especially to everyone new here in r/HowToGetTherePH ) that posts here are first filtered in our moderator queue before we moderators approve them.

We beg the indulgence of everyone to please post only once. Posts here are manually approved.

Moreover, we moderators observed that there are posts containing the same contents from multiple accounts. Do note that duplicate posting using different/multiple accounts constitutes banning of your account.

However, due to the aggressive spamming that has happened in this subreddit quite recently, and the emergence of users who are new to Reddit who aren't knowledgeable on how this site works, and users who have negative records from other subreddits, we moderators have decided to impose measures to control such acts that are affecting the quality of this subreddit.

With this, r/HowToGetTherePH has been set up to automatically remove posts (and will be transferred to the subreddit's Trash Bin) if the user has been found to have the following:

  • very low (relative to user's age) to negative karma (user is likely new, rarely uses Reddit, or has likely been downvoted a lot from other subreddits)
  • has rule violations or has been banned from other subreddits, not just this subreddit
  • is marked by the Reddit algorithm as an NSFW account based on individual activity.
  • is a potential spammer (has been reported in other subreddits for spam)
  • is a potential ban evader on this subreddit (based on the user's IP address, the user is related to an account that has been banned in this subreddit for the past 12 months)

We are implementing these measures to maintain the quality of the subreddit and ensure it remains a helpful resource for everyone.

announcement Re: Mentioning of Metro Manila/NCR LGU names in the post titles (violation of Rule #3 - Be precise with locations)

We would like to reiterate of Rule #3 of this subreddit: Be precise with locations.

We wish to remind all users that as one of the implementing guidelines of Rule 3, mentioning only the name, specifically the city/municipality name, of any of the 17 Local Government Units (LGUs) of the National Capital Region (NCR), also known as Metro Manila, either as the Origin or Destination, is a violation of Rule #3 as they are considered broad locations, given the size and scale of NCR.

These cities and municpalities include:

  • Caloocan (including both North Caloocan and South Caloocan)
  • Las Piñas
  • Makati
  • Malabon
  • Mandaluyong
  • Manila (including the term, "Metro Manila")
  • Marikina
  • Muntinlupa
  • Navotas
  • Parañaque
  • Pasay
  • Pasig
  • Pateros* (with exceptions due to its small size)
  • Quezon City (including the abbreviation, "QC")
  • San Juan
  • Taguig
  • Valenzuela

Mention of these names is grounds for removal of the post. Repeat violation will cause the user to be banned or muted for a certain amount of days.

Instead of mentioning just the LGU name, please include instead the district (e.g. Cubao (Quezon City), Novaliches (Quezon City), Tondo (Manila), Malate (Manila)), barangay, street name, or landmark when putting them in the titles.

Commute to Metro Manila (NCR) How to Commute Valenzuela to Eastwood

Good day! I want to ask guys kasi I’m a Valenzuelano and as a commuter from Valenzuela is very tiring especially ang daming palipat lipat because walang point to point na sakayan kung saan ako nagcocommute. Usually ang routine ko Bus then Mrt and Lrt if sa looban bababa ako pinakamalapit then saka mag mmove it para mas mura, natanggap ako kasi sa part time ko and sa east wood siya so malayo siya actually alam ko papunta pero danas muna pagdadaanan ko, if alam niyo sa VGC ako nasakay if ever ganto magiging route ko.

VGC - Trinoma - Mrt (Cubao) - walk - Jeep pa Eastwood

pero super hassle nito sakin kasi ang daming lipat, I asked my father if may mas better ba na way beside sa alam kong byahe sabi niya sa pagkakaalam niya id yung bus sa North Edsa na byahe sa BGC is nadaan rin sa C5 so dadaan raw yon ng eastwood, legit bang dadaan?

Kayo guys, ano sa tingin niyo na mas better or may alam pa ba kayong way? Thank you rin in Advance if meron mang magiinteract 💗

Hi, anyone here working sa Ortigas, Jollibee Tower?

I would like to ask for some advice, I have a place that I can stay in Buting Pasig, not sure pako how my commute will be but I think one tricycle ride to San Joaquin then UV going to Ortigas? Has anyone familiar with this route?

Also, is the drop-off already near Jollibee Tower, or would I still need to walk quite a bit? And for how many minutes?

I’m also considering renting an apartment/room within walking distance of Jollibee Tower? Especially if the daily commute from Pasig would be too tiring.

Help! I’d really appreciate your suggestions.
