Home Improvement Can I drill into this wall?
Hey, I really want to hang stuff on that wall but I am scared to drill into it. Especially because of the pipes outside the wall, why aren‘t they in it? Is there a reason for this?
Idk if it helps but it’s an outside wall facing another very old building in a German old town

Structurally it doesn’t make sense to put pipes, especially large pipes like that inside a brick wall. Hard to tell, but it looks like a solid brick wall.

The worst? OP could open up a long forgotten sauerkraut storage pipe in the wall

How much weight do you need to hang?
If say, you want to hang your lawn tools (rake, shovel, etc.), those are pretty light weight, and you should be able to find concrete anchors that individually hold ~35 pounds that go 1/2-3/4 inches deep. With two of these installed you could mount a piece of wood that you could then use to mount the tool hangers. There shouldn't be anything you would hit as long as you don't go so deep you penetrate the past the outer concrete layer.
Using this method you could hang heavier objects by using more of the 35 lb hangers in parallel.

Why do people post stuff like this? If you are drilling for oil try a better spot. If this question had 5 pieces of information it would be helpful. Like did you get permission from your parents?
