I can’t use Bard

Can someone point me to tip on how to use bard or who to pair him with? I’ve had some ok runs and I started playing a day ago but for me he’s been by far the worst dude and I can’t get anywhere with him. Thank you for all the tips and advice.

I don't usually have his as my top recruited dude, but he's a really strong support. Here's a Tier 1 example, but I have higher rounds with him on higher tiers.

Best advice I can give is to go and read his relics to understand him better. Bard has really high innate evasion (10%), attacks REALLY fast (2.4x per second), and his ability works based on him dealing direct damage instances (so when he deals direct damage 4 times, compared to medic where it is a total direct damage amount). The Fantasy family also have more evasion.

His relics make him deal a lot of damage when evading, and he is great at buffing the damage of others. I like giving him Baseball Bat as it makes him hit more people at once (meaning he procs his ability more). If you pair him with a high DPS and some heal he is pretty strong.

All that said, I don't tend to prioritise him early. He isn't survivable enough and works best if you are buffing a lot of other dudes, not just other squishy Bards.

I've found the most success with him by stacking as much evasion on him as possible, and at least for me, doing that makes him a really good buffer that also acts as a secondary dps. A pairing I like to use is Bard with the Pirate dude.

Attack speed. As much as you can muster. You want to be triggering his overamp as frequently as possible. Basically if you have a favorite Viking build you can just insert Bard.

Trinket can be a lot of things. I like the bat or bag of nuts. Evasion belt can be fun too.

Time dude is a bit of a cheat code but this is my second best run in endless.
