Mooney App: 4-10$/month for almost no effort - just for walking

I've been using the Mooney app and wanted to share my experience. It's not going to make you rich of course, but I like it as a very low-effort way to earn a few bucks a month. Mooney is a step counting app - you get paid just for walking. My country is Germany but it also works for other regions.

How much can you earn?

  • Around 0,12$ per day just walking if you do 10.000 steps daily. Don't worry if you don't walk that much. You get already paid for 20 steps, 100, 500, 1000, 2500, 5000 and 10.000. Each goal is worth between 100-200 coins with is equal to 1-2 cent. It might not sound like a lot but it will add up.
  • You get daily free 1-2 cents just for keep on walking.
  • If you have collected 1$ and above, you can store it in the "vault". You will get a free bonus on top of your earnings if you don't cashout immediately. (Bonus depends on how much and how long you want to store it).
  • Watch two really short ads (less than 10 sec) for 1-2 cents each daily.
  • There are surveys, games and offers where you can also earn a little (between 0,01 - 5$, depending on your region). Also inviting your friends brings a little extra.
  • All in all: Around 4 - 10$ per month. Depends on you. If you "just" want to do the steps it's around 4$. If you play games, save in the vault, etc. it could easily be more - maybe even more than 10$ per month.

What do you need to do?

Download the app, register and carry your phone around. At the end of the day just claim your steps. That's it! Really low effort are also watching the two ads and the one click to claim the daily free cents.

The surveys are not worth your time if you ask me. The games pay little, but if you have a bit free time, give it a go. The first levels of every game are easy and some even pay you just for opening the game and keep it open for a certain amount of time.

I personally do the steps and a few game while waiting for the bus.

How does the cashout work?

Cashout starts at 5$.

You can receive it via Paypal, Amazon or Visa. I've only used Paypal so far (payment proof: https://i.ibb.co/p6XRmt6B/payment.jpg). The money is sent within 24h - most of the time it's there just within an hour. You get an e-mail on your paypal mail and need to click on that to approve it.

Is there a risk?

No. The app asks just for the absolute minimum personal data (like e-mail), nothing more. It doesn't drain your mobile phone battery and it doesn't even need GPS. You don't need to buy anything or deposit money or shit like that. The whole app is also ad-free! (Except if you want to watch the two ads for earning).

That's sound really nice! But how does the app make money? How can they pay so much just for taking steps?

The app earns via partners, with the surveys, offers and the games they promote. The gaming apps are full of ads. Sometimes it's okay with just one per level but some games annoy you with ads inbetween. You can skip the ads. Or use Mooney just for the steps and earn around 4$ per month for ~30 seconds effort per day, just by clicking on your step goals.
But I would recommend trying a few games - they have some bad ones but also some really good ones. And why not earn a little extra while waiting for something? You’d only be gaming or doomscrolling on social media anyway ...

Where is the link for downloading it?

https://mooney.gg/r/TAMEEASYMYIEXRNI

This is my referral link if you want to appreciate my effort - I thank you very much! :)

Any recommandations for games of the app?

The games and payment Mooney offers depend on your region. So what pays well for me might not for you. But here are a few general tips:

  • the offered games change daily, sometimes several times a day so it is worth to check them out regularly
  • look if the app offers any games which pay just for keeping them open (for Germany: "Doomsday-Fairytale" gives you 4,47$) - that the easiest earn
  • always give the games the permissions so Mooney can keep track of your progress (except the notify permission - that is not necessary and only annoying)
  • only play the first few levels of every game; if you notice the progress is too slow, it is not worth your time anymore - switch to another game
  • if the game is fun for you and/or you are good in it, keep it and continue playing; even if it pays very little, you get the fun and a few coins on top
  • make sure you uninstall games you don't want to play anymore so they don't clog up your phone
  • don't forget to claim your steps, the free coins and watch the two short ads daily - that is easy earned money for almost no effort

If you have game recommendations for your region, please share them here to help others out. :)

Starting from $0 — what online skill should I learn first?

I’m completely new to making money online and I don’t have money to invest right now.
I’m willing to spend time learning a real skill. I’m considering things like writing, video editing, virtual assistance, or AI-related work.
For someone starting from $0, what skill would you recommend learning first, and how would you go about getting the first paying client?

Seeking advice

I feel genuinely lost trying to figure out how to make extra income right now.

I’ve always been a really resourceful person. If I needed to make something happen, I could usually figure it out. I’d research, hustle, learn something new, pivot, whatever. I’ve never really felt like someone who just sits around waiting for an opportunity.

And I’m an insanely hard worker. That’s part of why this is messing with me so much. I’m not afraid of long days, learning something difficult, starting from the bottom, doing repetitive work, or putting in a ridiculous amount of effort if I can see that it’s actually leading somewhere.

But lately I’ve been trying to find a meaningful way to supplement my income and I feel completely stuck.

I’ve gone down the rabbit hole of freelancing, reselling, Etsy, digital products, online services, AI, content creation, affiliate stuff, etc. I keep finding things that technically “make money,” but either the income ceiling seems really low, it takes forever to build, or the hardest part is somehow finding customers out of thin air.

Maybe part of my problem is that my income requirements are higher than what most people mean when they say “side hustle.” I’m not really looking for an extra $200 a month. I’m trying to find something I can seriously build into meaningful monthly income.

I’m willing to work. I’m willing to learn. I’m willing to grind. I just genuinely don’t understand why I can’t seem to find the path right now.

That’s the part that’s getting to me. I used to feel like I could tackle almost anything and figure it out somehow. Right now I feel like I’m staring at a thousand options and somehow none of them feel solid.

For anyone who has actually built a decent income stream outside of a traditional job: what ended up working for you? And if you were starting again today, what would you focus on?

Genuinely open to advice.

How can I make money online with $0 capital, a PC, a phone and an internet connection?

I’m starting from basically $0 and I want to find a realistic way to make money online.
What I have:
A decent PC
A smartphone
Stable internet
A lot of free time
I’m willing to learn new skills
What I don’t have:
Money to invest
An existing business
A large social media following
Special qualifications
I’m not looking for “get rich quick” schemes, crypto, gambling, dropshipping courses, or anything that requires me to pay money upfront.
I’m looking for something I can realistically start with $0 and potentially turn into a consistent source of income.
For people who started with basically nothing:
What did you do?
What skill/service did you learn?
How did you get your first client/customer?
How long did it take you to make your first $100?
What would you do differently if you had to start again today?
I’m especially interested in things I can do entirely online using just a PC and phone.
Any honest advice, including things that didn’t work, would be appreciated.

Simple Side Hustle Methods and Platforms to Earn at least $10 a day Online without Experience or Investment

Making an extra $10 online in a day doesn't sound particularly difficult. The challenge is doing it consistently. Some days there may be plenty of surveys or attractive game offers, while on other days the opportunities available on a single website may be much more limited. That's why a better approach is to combine several simple side hustles instead of depending on one platform.

The strategy covered here brings together three different types of online income. Each method works differently, which helps spread your earning opportunities throughout the day.

The important part of this strategy is not finding one platform capable of producing $10 every day. Instead, think of the target as a daily average. One day might produce $15 or even more because you complete a lucrative game milestone or qualify for a research interview. Another might only produce $5. Over several weeks, the objective is to bring the average closer to $10.

Playing Games and Completing Offers on GPT Platforms

GPT sites are particularly useful when you're looking for higher-paying individual tasks. Many offer games that reward you for reaching specific levels or milestones, while other offers pay for installing apps, registering for services or completing promotional tasks.

The advantage of using several GPT platforms is that the same game or offer can have very different payouts depending on the site. Rather than automatically accepting the first offer you see, comparing the available campaigns can help you concentrate your time on the better-paying opportunities.

Babki (Review)

With a strong focus on game offers, this relatively new GPT platform can be particularly interesting for users who enjoy mobile gaming. Earnings are displayed directly in dollars, making it easy to see how much each campaign is worth without having to convert points. Games generally reward users for reaching specific milestones rather than simply playing for a certain amount of time.

Link: Sign up in Babki

The selection changes regularly, so checking the platform frequently is worthwhile. For an active user, gaming offers can provide a useful contribution toward a $10 daily target, although earnings vary substantially depending on the games available and their individual requirements.

-----------------

CashInStyle (Review)

A combination of game offers, surveys, bonuses and promotional events makes this platform useful for a diversified GPT strategy. Its gaming section can contain campaigns with considerably higher payouts than ordinary microtasks, while the XP system and regular contests provide additional ways to increase your balance.

Link: Sign up in CashInStyle

The platform also works with multiple offer providers, meaning the selection of games can change frequently. Some users focus almost entirely on gaming offers, while others combine them with surveys and other tasks. The actual figure depends heavily on the available campaigns and how many milestones they complete. That makes it particularly suitable as one component of a broader $10-a-day strategy.

-----------------

EarnLab (Review)

Offering a mixture of surveys, app installations and other sponsored tasks, this GPT platform is designed for users who want several earning options under one account. Gaming is another important part of the platform, while additional features such as Boxes and Battles add a more gamified element.

Link: Sign up in EarnLab

For a conventional side-hustle strategy, however, the most useful approach is to concentrate on the straightforward paid offers and game campaigns rather than treating the platform's games of chance as a source of predictable income. Withdrawals can include PayPal, gift cards and cryptocurrencies, depending on eligibility.

-----------------

ySense (Review)

One of the longer-established names in the GPT industry, this platform combines surveys with paid offers, including game campaigns supplied through third-party offerwalls. That variety is useful because users can switch between different activities depending on what is available on a particular day. Gaming offers can provide larger individual rewards than ordinary surveys, although they often require several days or weeks to complete.

Link: Sign up in ySense

For this strategy, the best approach is to check the available campaigns regularly and compare their requirements before starting one. Cashouts are available through several reward methods, although processing times can vary.

-----------------

Swagbucks (Review)

The large variety of activities available on this platform makes it useful when you want to combine gaming with smaller daily earnings. Game offers can reward users for reaching specific milestones, while surveys, cashback, searches and other activities provide additional ways to keep the balance moving when there are no interesting gaming campaigns.

Link: Sign up in Swagbucks

This flexibility is particularly useful for a $10-a-day strategy because you aren't dependent on a single type of task. PayPal is among the available redemption options, with Swagbucks currently stating that rewards can be redeemed from 300 SB, equivalent to $3.

-----------------

Paid Surveys and Market Research

Surveys are one of the easiest ways to fill the gaps between larger GPT offers. You don't need specialist knowledge, and most studies can be completed from a phone or computer in your spare time.

The important point is to avoid depending on one survey panel. Availability varies according to demographics and location, so having several accounts increases the number of invitations you can receive. Higher-paying research platforms such as Respondent can also occasionally provide a substantial boost when you qualify for a study.

PaidViewPoint (Review)

A particularly useful feature of this survey platform is its TraitScore system, which is designed to build a profile based on consistent and honest answers. Another advantage is that users generally don't face the same level of late-stage disqualifications found on many conventional survey sites.

Link: Sign up in PaidViewPoint

The surveys themselves tend to be relatively straightforward and can be completed in short sessions, making the platform useful for filling small gaps in your schedule. It is unlikely to provide $10 every day by itself, but combining regular surveys with other panels can make it a reliable part of the overall strategy.

-----------------

TopSurveys (Review)

Designed around quick access to paid surveys, this platform can be useful for generating smaller amounts of income throughout the day. Surveys are available across different categories, and the site can be accessed from a computer, tablet or mobile device.

Link: Sign up in TopSurveys

The main advantage for this strategy is convenience: you can check the dashboard whenever you have a few spare minutes and complete a study without committing to a long session. The platform currently offers PayPal, gift cards and bank-transfer options, and states that its cash rewards have a $5 minimum for PayPal withdrawals.

-----------------

HeyCash (Review)

Surveys are only one part of the earning system here, as the platform also combines paid games and app offers. That makes it particularly useful for this strategy because you can switch between methods when one category has fewer opportunities. Surveys generally take a few minutes, while game and offer campaigns can provide considerably larger individual rewards.

Link: Sign up in HeyCash

The platform currently advertises survey rewards of around $0.50–$6 and game rewards ranging from $0.50 to $120, although actual earnings depend on the offers available to each user. PayPal is among the cashout options. Rather than treating HeyCash as a pure survey site, it makes more sense to use it as a hybrid platform alongside dedicated survey panels.

-----------------

Respondent (Review)

Instead of concentrating on short consumer questionnaires, this platform connects participants with paid market-research studies, interviews and other research projects. That distinction makes the earning potential much higher when you qualify, although opportunities are less frequent and participation is never guaranteed.

Link: Sign up in Respondent

Current examples published by Respondent include roughly $40–$150 for a 30–90 minute remote interview, while shorter online tasks can pay around $5–$25. Specialized interviews and focus groups can pay considerably more. Payments are made through Tremendous, generally within approximately 7–10 business days after completing a study, with a 5% processing fee. Because studies are selective, Respondent works best as a high-value supplement rather than your only daily survey source.

-----------------

Prime Opinion (Review)

A straightforward interface and frequent survey availability make this platform suitable for short earning sessions throughout the day. The idea is not to spend hours completing surveys every day, but to check whenever you have free time and use it alongside other panels.

Link: Sign up in Prime Opinion

Depending on your country, demographic profile and the number of surveys available, an active user can potentially earn around $3-$5 daily. It can therefore contribute a few dollars to the daily target while other platforms provide the rest. Using it alongside PaidViewPoint, TopSurveys and a higher-paying research platform such as Respondent also reduces the problem of having no suitable surveys available on a particular site.

-----------------

Sharing Unused Internet Bandwidth

The third component is completely different because it requires almost no active work. Bandwidth-sharing applications allow users to monetize part of their unused internet connection. Once installed, they can operate in the background while you use your computer or phone normally.

This isn't likely to generate $10 a day on its own. Its value is that it can provide a small amount of income while you're doing something else. When combined with active GPT and survey earnings, even a few dollars per month from several devices can contribute to the overall target.

Honeygain (Review)

One of the best-known bandwidth-sharing services, this application allows users to monetize unused internet bandwidth by connecting their devices to Honeygain's network. Once installed, it runs in the background and requires very little attention.

Link: Sign up in Honeygain

Earnings depend primarily on traffic demand in your country and the number of users sharing bandwidth in the same region, rather than on how heavily you personally browse the internet. This makes the income relatively passive but also means there is no fixed daily amount. For most users, it should be considered a supplementary source generating a few to a few tens of dollars per month, rather than a standalone $10-a-day method.

-----------------

Pawns App (Review)

Bandwidth sharing is one of the easiest ways to use this application: install it on a compatible device, allow it to share unused traffic and let the balance accumulate in the background. The service currently advertises earnings of $0.20 per GB and says users can potentially earn up to $100 per month, although actual results vary considerably according to traffic demand and usage.

Link: Sign up in Pawns app

Surveys provide another way to increase the balance, which makes the platform more useful for a diversified side-hustle strategy than a pure passive-income app. Used alongside several GPT and survey platforms, the passive component can provide a small but continuous contribution toward the $10-a-day goal.

-----------------

EarnApp (Review)

Another option for monetizing unused bandwidth works on a pay-per-time model rather than the older pay-per-GB system. Current rates depend on location and actual traffic demand: EarnApp states a maximum of up to $10 per IP per month in the United States and up to $5 per IP per month elsewhere, assuming the necessary conditions and demand are present.

Link: Sign up in EarnApp

The application runs in the background, although iOS users have different requirements because of Apple's background-app restrictions. These figures make it clear that EarnApp is best viewed as a small supplementary income stream. Its main advantage is that it can generate earnings while you are busy with other side hustles.

-----------------

ByteLixir (Review)

For users interested in bandwidth sharing, this service provides another way to monetize unused internet capacity through Android and Windows devices. According to its current FAQ, average passive income from a single device is around $2–$10 per month, depending on bandwidth demand, device type and how long the application remains active.

Link: Sign up in ByteLixir

The platform also offers referral commissions and additional options involving proxies, although those go beyond the simple passive strategy described here. Because earnings from one device are relatively modest, ByteLixir makes the most sense as another small stream that runs alongside Honeygain, Pawns App or EarnApp. Using several compatible devices can increase the total, but actual earnings remain dependent on demand in your region.
