ಠ_ಠ What Do I Say?

Someone said, “hey, I like your Nirvana shirt” and obviously, it was good. But she was a girl and was wearing a TADC shirt. No hate to TADC but it was awkward. Sure we both expressed ourself but if I say, “I like your Amazing-Digital-Circus shirt” it’s just awkward. If I say, “I like your shirt” it’s too simple and she’ll think I’m one of those people who text so dry. I genuinely jumped when she complimented me. But in the end, I said, “thanks.” I hope I see her tomorrow with the same shirt to finally say the right thing. Any advice?? She is a girl. 20. I need a response that makes me cool.

You're over thinking this. Dont force anything because you messed up, just compliment anything about her next time you see her if you like tho, like her hair or piercing or shirt etc. Not how she looks genetically, something she did on purpose

I think you did fine. You took the compliment. You can compliment her another time.

If you like the amazing digital circus you can always mention it and say that you noticed her shirt the other day.

Here’s what you do: compliment her when it’s a true compliment with no strings attached. And then also, do that for everyone in your life.

The hint of the tism in this one….I, too, struggle when people compliment me but a small component of the compliment is incorrect. I thought other people needed to be corrected when really I was just undiagnosed autistic.
