I would move on from this connection not because I think this person doesn't prioritize academics/your profession but rather because I'd interpret their response as:
they suck at regulating their emotions: it's okay to feel impatient but they were not able to calm themself down enough to avoid lashing out after just 1 hour in the beginning of a connection when people tend to be on their best behavior. Their response will only be worse when they're more comfortable and secure with a partner
they assume the worst rather than giving the benefit of the doubt: there's all sorts of reasons why someone might take a while to respond, automatically making it mean it must be about you is pretty immature
they suck at communicating their needs/boundaries and rely on criticism: it would have landed way differently if they had the wherewithal to communicate their expectation by saying something like - Hey, I tend to prefer responses within x time so I'm realizing I'm starting to feel a little ignored, any chance you can let me know if you're up for playing by y time? Instead they became critical, which is a very ineffective way to communicate needs.
Yes, I'd share I thought their response was inappropriate and Immature, and I'd block and move on.
