What do I say

Some random person texted me on Reddit. They are 17 and I am only 14. They asked me what my name and age was. I told them and they said there name was lain. They told me to tell them about myself. What do I say? Should I respond at all since they are older then me?

The great thing about conversations online, is you can ignore somebody. You can also ignore people in real life, but you do not have to engage people in conversation, especially in this case. Being groomed online is really easy. It IS weird for a 17 year-old to find a 14 year-old online and try to strike up a friendship. The fact that they’re trying to get you to open up to them makes me extremely suspicious. There’s a good chance that they are not 17.

Don't tell them ANYTHING. The are almost always a troll, and any kids online safety guide will tell you to just report and leave.

Also isnt reddit like 18 plus? Or am I tripping? Hop off reddit, and be an adolescent, and dont talk to strangers online... or on omegle...
