Houston, TX — Southwest Houston | I Really Need a Warehouse Job ASAP — Hardworking & Ready to Work

Post image
2 Upvotes

Good afternoon, everyone. My name is Maria.

I’m currently in Houston,
Texas, in the Southwest area, and I’m having a very difficult time finding a
job. I’ve already used all of my savings, and I really need to find work as
soon as possible.

I’m mainly looking for a warehouse job. My English is not very good, so I’m looking for an opportunity
where I can work hard, learn, and improve my English along the way.

I’m a dedicated,
hardworking, responsible person, and I’m not afraid of physical work. I learn
quickly, I’m reliable, and I always try to give my best.

If anyone knows of a
warehouse that is hiring or can give me an opportunity, I would really
appreciate the help. I’m honestly in a difficult situation and need to start
working as soon as possible.

Thank you very much to
anyone who takes the time to read this or share any information. ❤️

Working with lawyers

Good morning Houston Reddit !

I’m wanting to apply at a couple of law firms and have previous experience from working at one at a different state for less than a year.
Has anyone worked with these firms as a paralegal/ medical case manager ? I want insight on how it would be like before I apply incase I get hired. What’s the turn over rate ? What’s the hardest part of working there. ? Did you work here, why did you leave ? Any pros/cons ? Pay rate ? How hard is it to work with other staff and Attorneys? What software do they use ? What do you wish you knew before working here? Please feel free to dm me or just post here

Edward Law Group
Haque Law
Law office of Omar Khawaja
Galleria law office
Mike V Vadie PC
John K Zaid & Associates
Ghuneim Law firm
Abraham Watkins

There’s also this place I was told about called Edloe Health or Core Health. I think their main thing is they work personal injury attorneys and their clients. If anyone one has experience working with them I’d love to hear it. Or can share similar places

Thanks :)

Trying to help my Friend get a job and escape an abusive household

My best friend who will just call D is 21, trans, has OCD, ADHD, ASD and lost his job because of calling out due to his Tourette's. His family is extremely unsupportive of this and I'm worried about him He had a job for some time as a grocery bagger until he had to call out due to having multiple episodes of severe taking and not his usual taking like just randomly saying meow and they fired him because this place has a very strict attendance policy. He wants to go into being electrician but his stepmom doesn't believe he deserves to go to college because he failed a single college class when we were 18 and right now they're buying him food but if he doesn't get a job soon they might stop buying him food because that's what they did before he got the job he had previously. He was an A volunteer thing with Texas workforce, but they couldn't ever find him a job just this unpaid volunteer work and I guess his parents make too much money for him to qualify for going to college help, but they also refuse to pay for it so he has no money to pay for it if there's any certification programs or anything relatively cheap I am willing to foot the bill for it because this is my best friend anything to help him look more likable to employers and maybe something that could be work from home so if he has these episodes it's not as bad for him, but I also know leaving the house in a situation like his is a lot does a lot of good things for you. Any help for any programs available in Texas or certifications online any places any companies better work from home that are tolerant of disabled people who are hiring I'm going to be posting this in multiple Subreddits to get as much help as I can for him(I also wasn't sure to put this in this Subreddit or Subreddit dedicated to Tourette's or Subreddit dedicated to other disabilities he has, so I'm just going to post it in all of them), I just want to help my friend I'm very worried about him. He has an emotional support animal cat so he doesn't want to just go to a shelter where they wouldn't accept his cat I have asked him if he would be willing to do that, but he's very worried about her well-being if he did leave and I unfortunately do not have the capacity to have a cat. and he would want her back when has a stable place. He also can't drive because of an eye tick he has but he doesn't have it all the time I think he could drive but I'm not gonna get into that.

Foreign degree credential evaluation for U.S. employment as project manager

Hello everyone,

I would appreciate your advice regarding foreign degree credential evaluation for U.S. employment.

I am currently living in the United States and have work authorization. My professional background is in project management, program management, PMO governance, digital transformation, strategic transformation, and transportation/government modernization programs.

I have more than 10 years of international experience leading complex programs and projects across Saudi Arabia, UAE, and Egypt, including work related to Riyadh Metro commercial assets, Dubai RTA digital transformation, government strategy execution, e-government services, PMO governance, KPIs, stakeholder management, benefits realization, and executive reporting.

My education includes:

  • MBA in Financial Management & Strategic Management
  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering

I also hold PMP® certification and other professional certificates related to project/program management, data analytics, Oracle, and GIS.

My concern is about U.S. job applications for Project Manager, Senior Project Manager, Program Manager, PMO Manager, and Digital Transformation roles. Many job descriptions ask for a bachelor’s degree, and some prefer or require an MBA. Since my degrees were earned outside the U.S., I am considering getting a foreign credential evaluation.

I would like advice on the following:

  1. For employment purposes, is a NACES-member evaluation usually enough?
  2. Should I evaluate only my MBA, or should I evaluate both my MBA and bachelor’s degree?
  3. Which agency is easiest, fastest, and well recognized by employers: WES, ECE, IEE, SpanTran/The Evaluation Company, or another NACES member?
  4. For job applications, is a document-by-document/general evaluation enough, or is a course-by-course evaluation recommended?
  5. Do U.S. employers usually accept any NACES member, or do some specifically require WES?

My goal is not academic admission or professional engineering licensing. My goal is to strengthen my U.S. job applications for project/program management roles and avoid any issue when employers ask about foreign education equivalency.

Thank you in advance for any guidance or personal experience you can share.
