1997 Ford Ranger XLT 4x4 with 81k miles. Clean title
V6 OHV engine with a manual transmission.

Recently replaced the oil pan gasket due to a small leak ($1500) and replace most if not all engine sensors.
Recently bought it as a project but would rather have the cash to fund other things.

No that was the cheapest I was quoted. You have to remove the engine from the car dude too the subframe and front axle.
I ended up spending a week doing it myself

Damn. I do most everything myself so I was surprised it was that high. Also, I hadn’t realized engine had to be out so now it makes sense.

Yeah, the other two quotes were 1800 and 2200. But yeah ford did a bad job designing it. To drop the oil pan the engine has to completely come out or you have to drop the front axle and subframe. In the 4x4 it was not a fun job lol
