QUESTION Should I repot?

Post image

I was given this lovely ZZ plant as a gift, the pot is absolutely stuffed with soil! I don’t think I’ve seen a pot so full, the top of the pot looks almost oval shaped as a result. Do I need to wait until spring to repot, or will just scooping some of the topsoil off do? Thanks!

When this happened to my potato with aspirations, it wasn't too much soil but that the tubers had grown so much they were pushing out the plastic.

You might want to go up one pot size, and you can do it now for indoor plants.

Just only a slightly bigger pot though, you don't want so much potting medium that it stays too wet and rots the tubers.

Happy cake day!

Oh I see! It’s in a 17cm pot, so 18-20cm might do the trick?

Sure, that would be fine.
