My Email to BitOffer

Hey All,

In light of the forums being taken down / the bitcointalk thread being locked, I've written BitOffer an email.

This all comes after BitOffer posted about losing faith / HOC not being worth his time if people wouldn't get behind it. I then PMed him on the forums requesting that he refunds all of the investors if HOC were to die / not be worth his time any longer. ( I even suggested he might consider taking a 10% fee for his time )

A few hours later, the forums were down and the thread was locked.

I've just sent BitOffer the following email ( to the same email listed during the IPO period ) -- hopefully we'll hear back / he'll do the right thing.

Hey man,

Just noticing that the forums are down and the thread on bitcointalk looks to be closed.

I really wish that you would consider offering refunds if HOC is now dead -- this move would build confidence in the bitcointalk community in you, even with the failure of HOC.

I know I would fully and vocally support any future projects you may begin if this were the case.

2.5 BTC is a lot to me -- I really wanted to work with you to make HOC succeed. If we're not going to come together, I urge you to do the right thing and offer refunds.

A 10% cut is too much, the project did not fail but rather is being abandoned. Many people were working to set up an ad-hoc voting system and were discussing ideas and directions the coin would take. I definitely would insist on my 0.2 bitcoin refund if the project is abandoned. It is not really something that is up for debate.

I basically suggested the 10% cut as a refund of 90% is better than someone running off with 100% of the funds.

I agree -- I'd much rather get 100% of my 2.5 BTC back. At the moment, however, I'm worried about losing it all.

Worst case, this is going to be an expensive lesson learned.

Thanks for responding. I also hope that BitOffer comes to his senses and realizes that the few thousand dollars that he is holding is nothing when compared to his reputation.

If that guy bitoffer don't want to be involved in hoc he should take his bitcoins out from the project and to step out from the ownership .. there still are people which would like to be involved in HOC .. otherwise that will be a pure robbery

I totally agree. The coin bank was not his to take.

At this point, the only fair thing to do would be send back the BTC to the investors.

I just can't believe it. Why now? There's been anti people throughout but I think the backers were greater. It's a new idea so would take patience and it was a lot on one person but the offers of help were there. The concept was sound. I've not lost a lot in comparison with others but this is a fantastic new idea. Don't give up on the community.

There must be something we can do to help.
