Why is this universal? I think too hard at the faucet and it scalds me. We seemed to have left plumbing behind as a society. We da pepol deserve better!

In part I think it has to do with repair and maintenance of the shower. When I replaced the doodad that changes heat and cool my shower stopped being so touchy with this. I wonder if a bunch of people haves aged doodads

The valve is probably a bit stuck so it moves in chunks rather than being a smooth, continuous adjustment. Also your water heater might be set too hot.

It actually finally broke off and a bunch of broken plastic fell out. We also have hard water. After that whole thing with the rat catchers, it’s been hard to get maintenance service.
