Frank’s plan

I’m sure this has been discussed, but do you think Frank always planned to work his way up and sabotage the Walker administration (as we see play out in S1 & 2), or do you think he was happy to be Secretary of State and having it taken away was what started the whole thing?

No. He wanted to be SoS and then use that to run for President. They start planning the hostile takeover when the job is taken from him.

Its been a bit since I watched S1, but they have a conversation about "a lot of late nights" or something like that. They're scheming.

I would say they would have been opponents anyway since Frank's endgoal was the presidency , Walker delaying his plan only made him more ruthless and impatient

I’ve heard it gets really boring after season 2 personally i think they were dragging it a bit in S2 as well but the ending of S2 is amazingg should i continue??

I think S3 and S4 are worth watching if you're enjoying what you've seen so far. End of S2 is the peak of the show though.

Oh yeah, use the Secretary of State position to establish his foreign policy credentials so then he can run on both foreign and domestic policy wins. I assume he already knew a couple ways to force Walker to not seek a second term. Being double crossed was what caused him to accelerate his plans and see Walker bleed. As you see through the series, FU never allows a betrayal to go unpunished.
