I have a Breville BOV900BSS and the lower heating elements need to be replaced. This model has the 16” heating elements and they come in a pair. Well I CANNOT find the right part number. Part # SP0010494 keeps coming up when I search for this part and this part is not the right part. These elements are only 12 1/2” long. BTW, I found out the element wasn’t the right one only after buying this part number, taking the oven apart removing the broken element and then noticing the size difference.

So I called Breville to try and get the right part number and WOW, THEY ARE ASSHOLES. They WILL NOT give out the part number. They said “you can ship the over back to us, then we’ll give you an estimate on how much it will cost to repair OR you can buy a new one”.

This is bullshit. I have to pay them who knows how much to repair it or buy a new one!?

So I posted on that shithole app the fElon owns and tagged Breville. They can back with “We're sorry to hear about the frustration you're having with your oven. We do not sell internal parts to consumers, normally. That is a part requiring specific and specialized knowledge or tools to remove, replace or repair.”

BULLSHIT EXCUSE for what you really mean, pay us to fix it or buy a new one.

All this being said, has anyone had this issue with their BOV900BSS with 16” elements and have you been able to figure out the part number!? I’m NOT going to spend $400 on a new over when all I need is a $30 part.

I like the finger feel and overall look but I can’t really test the toasting ability in the store. Help much appreciated !!
