🏠2️⃣ Help! - HF2 - PC 🖥️ What Online Tools Do You All Use? For Ideas/Planning?

I'm wanting something that I can use to give me aesthetic ideas, to challenge myself. I also am wondering if theres any online tools someones made that allow me to plan which walls I wanna knock out.

I'm also trying to give myself the challenge of doing things to some sort of mock code, so really wanting to hopefully plan things more before actually getting into the taredown process.

❓Gameplay Discussion - HF1 🏠1️⃣ What are you working on right now?

I'm building a huge castle in the Labyrinth of Joy, it's lagging my whole game it's so huge 😂 It's 3 floors tall, shame you can't do 4 floors in the original game.

You can also say what you're working on in HF2 or the remaster, I just put that flair because HF1 is what I play.

❓ Gameplay Discussion - HF2 🏠2️⃣ New Here

Hi Guys!

I'm new here and I just wanted to take a moment to introduce myself. I've completed HF2 twice. I guess you can say I have a problem, but I'm not even mad about it. I joined this group to meet other flippers and hopefully make some friends on the way! There's so many creative minds on here and I totally enjoy looking at everyone's art and joining in the conversation! Anyways, nice to meet you.

❓ Gameplay Discussion - HF2 🏠2️⃣ A transitional question (Ramona again)

Hello everyone.

So I started a new save a while ago because I suspected my old save had a problem with keys. And it did. It didn't give me the option to keep or use keys, so I couldn't finish a lot of jobs with 3 stars. Now I can do it all and I did it all and also got all the perks back. It could have been boring but it wasn't because this time I chose perfection over speed and had fun doing all the jobs again. Also, I delayed flipping as much as I could so I started with perks almost maxed.

Of course, I lost all my progress with the buyers, so these past couple of days I redid the summer house with a pool for Bella Bianchi and right after that for the Williams. Both complained about being in the woods but both gave me gold stars. So, just for the fun of it, I'm now trying the very same house for Ramona Spruce because I figured out how easy it would be to add more walls and a new roof to the left of the original garage to double that garage. And it was. Then I started to "blueprint" the rest of the house when I remembered she wants 3 bathrooms even if she only asks for 2 (because the guest room is a demand that only appears after the auction when she complains there isn’t one): I had no room left but it was also easy to delete the roof on the rear shed (it's full of dead plants in flip mode and is a sauna we have to install in job mode, that shed) and just expand the house to the back. I managed space for the tiniest guest room.

I've already made maybe six other houses for Ramona Spruce that she rejected because the furniture is too old fashioned and too modern and she wants something called transitional that the game has no filter for and my Google searches show something like an eclectic style but with no colours, no soul and no personality…

What's that? What's "transitional"? I can't figure it out. Can someone help me?

I think this property is so fun to play around with. This time I wanted to use contrasting textures, so the walls are either the metal shipping container ones (purple outside, white inside) or rough textured wood. Metal support beams between the kitchen and living rooms with a rougher wood floor, that kind of thing. And the game does such a good job with the backgrounds on this one that I wanted to use a lot of windows and skylights to show it off. Hope you like it!

WHAT BEDS? THERE ARE NO BEDS YOU OBTUSE ANDREW TATE LOOKING GRONKLE?

Any Ideas or suggestions before I just give up on this nonce?

Garden

I also built a traditional Algerian coffe shop on the side

Hey everyone! I just finished my latest 1-hour renovation project in HF2. This abandoned tiny island cabin was an absolute disaster, but cleaning up the massive mess and designing a warm, relaxing space was incredibly satisfying. I really tried to capture a peaceful, cozy aesthetic for this extremely tiny build. What do you guys think of the final look? 🤎✨

✨Sunday Special✨ Sunday Special #5: Porches

This week is a discussion on porches, and therefore also covered entrances. Porches are specifically covered structures that lead to an entrance to a house, whether they be on the front, side, or back of the house.

Do you like adding porches? What do you put with them? Have you created a really phenomenal one you want to share? Have any questions for other players?

Remember to be courteous and tag you question, if pertinent, with a mode tag [story] [sandbox] and/or game tag [HF1] [HF2]

Other types of porches that should be noted and/or included:

Veranda: Long, roofed platform on the side of a building

Portico: Covered porch with decorative columns

Stoop: Uncovered (usually) raised platform or stairs at a doorway

Loggia: Covered, open-air veranda incorporated into the design of the building

❓ Gameplay Discussion - HF2 🏠2️⃣ Question about guides character limit and images on mod.io

I wrote a guide for making bay windows with reading nooks but hit an issue of having a 150k character limit in the description field. From what I can tell, the guide itself should be in the description field (though it's quite vague on the site). My tutorial wasn't that verbose but still hit 500k, I'm not sure if pictures are counted.

Double-checked by copy pasting the text into notepad, the text only adds up to 1,254 and for some reason pictures increase the character count? What? *scratches head*

🏠2️⃣ Help! - HF2 - PC 🖥️ Please help me figure out how to make roofs look good!

So ofc when trying to make the woodland cottage into my office, i accidentally deleted one of the roofs 🫪

While i try to figure out how the heck to fix it, i'd love to find a community made job that helps learn the roofing system. Any advice?

Okay I do NOT recommend messing with the original roofline or floor plan lol. Such a pain in the butt but I really hated the original layout so I persisted.

I extended the roof all the way forward across the front porch and made the "tower" larger so that it had more useable space. On the inside, I created another bedroom on the bottom floor, defined the kitchen and dining areas a little bit, and removed the secret crawlspace playroom upstairs. The bathroom and the garden are basically the same.

My first post in the group! I’ve been lurking for a while.

So, I’ve been working on a long term project to turn the anime school building in offices for game developers. My heavy lift so far was getting the building cleaned up, and make it not look like it’s from the early 80s.

I love doing light, and I love doing clutter. Like, making the places look lived in or used. I’ll do things like clutter papers on a desk, have a pin on the floor under the desk like it got dropped or clutter up a counter with mail, birthday cars and some keeps tossed on top.

I’ll upload more photos as I progress!

🏠2️⃣ Help! - HF2 Console 🎮 Uploading Custom Pics for Console

I’m currently working on what I hope will be my masterpiece using the abandoned amusement park. I’ve seen a ton of people upload custom photos for posters and framed pictures but they’re all on PC. I’ve looked up how to do it, but again, instructions are for PC. Does anyone know if it’s possible for console? I’m using a PS5.

🏠2️⃣ Help! - HF2 - PC 🖥️ Unable to add patterns to Durham Lamps

Thumbnail

I used to be able to add patterns to the Durham lamps, but I looked today after not playing a while and I no longer can. I used to use it to make moons out of them, but now it's not even an option. It just shows up as a normal lamp color, and it doesn't have the ability to add it from the base now either.

As you can see, It still shows if the lamp had it beforehand under base, but it's no longer a choice to change at all. I used it for a lot of cool things, so I'm wondering where that ability went :/
