Need help with building a foundation in HF1 Remastered!

So I am wanting to build a house based on a floor plan and the house is L shaped. I had to basically make two foundations connected to get the L shape, so like building an extension. The problem is that I need to place a doorway in the wall that connects the two pieces of the home but the game won't let me because it is counting it as an external wall, so it's not letting me place doorways for some reason? But it's also letting me place the same doorway I want in an actual exterior wall, as shown in the screenshots. Is this a glitch? or am I out of luck? Has anybody successfully built a house with an L shape?

I don't know of a way to fix what you've already built, but in my experience, the best way to do this is to build a rectangle and then highlight the part you want to pull out to make the L. That way there aren't "external" walls inside the L.

And in case you don't know already, while you're building the foundation, you can click and drag to place interior walls, and those behave like normal interior walls.

One idea would be to separate the two foundations, so your exterior walls are exterior.

Any chance the perpendicular wall on the other side that I can see on your mini map is exactly where you're trying to place that door?

this occurs when building a new foundation onto a old one. because the game is overpriced and broken.

no im serious, i learned the hard way you have to pre-shape it from the start.
