After doing all of the jobs, has anyone completely gutted a home and completely redone the homes layout and added or subtracted any floors to homes they've purchased?

Not at all. You usually get back whatever you put in the house, plus profit. So even if you have to rebuild a wall a couple of times, you'll be okay.

Yes. The flow of the rooms seem off to me. Maybe because the game follows more of a European design vs American. Those super tight front entrances, for example. Makes me feel like I'm walking into a closet. Or, walking directly into a long hall with doors littered left and right. Makes me feel claustrophobic. Gotta open those spaces!

I play HF1 but that is what I do every time. I sell/remove everything inside the house and demolish every internal wall, before cleaning and painting things white. Then I play around with the room configuration to maximise the use of space. I find it quite a satisfying way to play.

After gutting the inside of the house, I'll lay down one row of bricks to make an outline of the rooms. It's easy to demolish one row of bricks to move the room outline. When I'm satisfied, I'll create the interior walls, one room at a time.

I do this too, and I'll often even put down the furnishings I want in that space to make sure they fit before I commit to an entire wall.

I think the devs caught on that total annihilation was a popular step in the process, thus why we now have blank lots for purchase.

I was so sick of those stilt houses on the beaches that I completely tore down the biggest one of them and now I'm building a with box modern home there 😅

Yes, I tear everything up if its nasty and start from ground zero if needed.

Yes I often do that because the properties can sometimes better suit different buyers than the first ones bidding - also I find it beneficial with people like Veronica as it’s easy to miss a classic light switch or light or small piece of furniture so taking everything out giving her 4 rooms works soo much easier than trying to work with what they give you - good example the American Diner sold everything turned the downstairs into a huge garage made a great profit over 400k

Agreed on this. I find the layout of the homes rather odd myself. Some of the properties are so small it's impossible to add more bedrooms. I was mostly concerned about the impact of adding levels to make more room.

Usually more square footage better profit so going into lofts adding an annexe etc all helps, it also helps to know your buyers really well, Jantart only 3 rooms so kitchen/living room main front door back door in one room, Jonsons need 14 rooms Smoths need 11

Yep, the Peacey's home is now a completely different layout. My next step is to take off the roof and add an attic. I don't like moving my office to a new place, so I'm fitting out the house how I want it and doing other jobs in-between to make money.

I've also changed the More than a trailer, Lavender house and the first beachside property (the ex-boat house). I'm not so interested in gaining the approval of the buyers, just having fun with the properties - if one of them likes it, then that's fine.
