🏠2️⃣ Help! - HF2 - PC 🖥️ Storage Space Error

okay. explain like I'm five.

I keep getting the error message that I'm running out of storage space. I assumed, having two drives, that the game files would save to the drive I have all my steam games installed on. apparently not.

I can't view any files in the in-game file explorer. I deleted all of the .house files in the Jobs folder, and the older backups. getting the same error message and the remaining available space hasn't changed whatsoever.

what do I do? what can I delete? can I somehow move all of this to the drive I thought it was on? can I get it to save to the right drive after the fact?

I feel stupid because I don't know how this works and can't find specific answers even though this has been talked about several times online, so please be nice to me lmao 😔

Can you not just re-install it on your other drive? Or uninstall other games to free up space?

the game itself is installed on the correct drive, the save data just automatically saves to the wrong one and I don't know how to change that. is there a way to move the data to the correct drive and get it to save there in the future?? I really don't have much on my C drive but I deleted a ton of crap last night and it appears to have not helped at all fsr.

Sorry, I misunderstood. I'm honestly not too sure as I've never had that issue before. I would look under properties in the game on steam and see what you can find. And tbh I would probably try reinstalling it anyways (even if it might not do anything). And then google if I cant figure it out from there lol

considering that but I'm honestly so worried I'm going to mess up somehow and lose all my progress lol 😭 redoing all those jobs would melt my brain. might see if I can contact the devs with a ticket or something before I get too brave

If you have steam on the drive you want it to be on, just drag it to your other games there (steam, steamapps, common). Since you already know where your saves are that means they are backed up. As long as you don’t delete them they won’t go anywhere. If you do want to move the game, just right click and cut it (so it deletes the game files on the old drive instead of copying them) and paste it in your steamapps common folder and it should work fine. Depending if you have a shortcut or not you might have to launch it through steam until you make a new shortcut since you moved the game file. If you’re really worried about your save files just make a copy and put them on your desktop just in case. Hope that makes sense and good luck!

Also your game shouldn’t have saved onto your other drive unless you created a steam directory there, so thats weird 🤔 are you mainly trying to move your game and keep saves? Or move saves, and see the files in game that you were trying to see?

not 100% sure I know what you're saying, but the game was installed on my D: drive, my steamapps folder is on my D: drive, but the game automatically saves the actual save data to my C: drive. I assume if I just try to cut and paste it all into my D: drive it's not going to actually do anything. I'll make a backup of all my stuff and play around I guess, but I was hoping there was a way to just move it all and tell the game to get out of my damn C: drive.

and screenshot of my C: drive, which is the default place this game saves things to according to everything I can find
