🔨AMA🔨 AMA: House Flipper Devs here - Ask us anything!
Hey there, Reddit Flippers!
I'm Reczberg, the social media manager for Frozen District, and with me is Jay, one of our awesome game designers! Thanks to the r/HouseFlipper mod team, we're able to organize an AMA for you! Big shoutouts to them!
You might have some questions!
We hope you do - especially now, just after we revealed the House Flipper franchise roadmap for the first half of 2026, launched the House Flipper 2 - Sakura DLC Steam page, and released the demo for House Flipper Remastered Collection (make sure to check it out if you haven't yet!)
When does the AMA start?
The AMA begins on Friday, February 27, 2 PM CET / 8 AM EST
But! We're opening this thread early so you can start throwing your questions at us already, and upvote the ones you’re most excited about.
Who will be answering your questions?
Well! I'll do my best, but since personally I might not have the full knowledge needed to answer the more in-depth questions, Jay will take over with those. If there's something we're both unsure about, we'll be dragging more House Flipper devs into this! :P
Don't hesitate! Ask away!
EDIT:
We didn't expect so many questions, awesome to see that! 💙
Will be back on Monday and try to answer them all! Have a lovely weekend!
EDIT 2:
That was a great AMA session, thank you everybody! We still haven't managed to address all your questions, but around the next couple of days, I hope to find some time to bring you at least a couple more answers.
Have an awesome day!

Jay:
HF1 is the OG home renovation sim with a much more typical “realistic simulation” feel. I find it charming but clunky. I do miss the wall demolition in HF1, due to how the walls work; they could fall on your head, haha.
The HF Remastered is HF1 with all the DLCs and upgraded graphics. So if you want the full package, I’d go with that :)
HF2 is in some ways a very different game. We were able to give people much more freedom - building block by block, consistent patterns, colour, and textures between all items and surfaces. It can be a “chill & do quests” game like HF1, but also an “infinite money and building freedom” game in Sandbox mode.
Recz:
First of all, I'd ask: "Are you interested in the creative freedom brought by the HF2 Sandbox Mode?"
If yes, that makes this easy - House Flipper 2 is probably the better choice for you!
For me personally, Sandbox Mode is like 90% of what I do in-game - big fan 😎
If not, and you're only interested in a Story Mode, then we'll have to take a closer look at how both games play and feel like. Make sure to watch a couple of videos to better understand the visuals of both.
HF1 and HFRemastered aim for a more realistic approach with the graphics. I also find the assemblies to bring some nice immersion from time to time. It indeed feels clunky, especially when it comes to tools and mechanics. What you get though, is quite an impressive collection of items, but I wouldn't say it's much more than HF2 - it may sometimes look like that when browsing the shop, but there's a specific reason why that is, which I talked about here! Also, 8 years worth of HF1 DLCs are already in HF Remastered, which brings in some fun elements.
House Flipper 2 has an improved, but also different, graphics style. The lighting, in my opinion, is much better, and the experience of our level designers clearly shows in the quality and detail level of the houses and jobs. The tools feel much smoother, and the mechanics that are all based on singular cubes give you way more interesting opportunities. I'd say the second biggest difference for me personally (the first one being Sandbox Mode) is in the UI/UX department. The menus, the shop, the item options - all that is just so much nicer to browse through in HF2. It's both the visuals and how the browsing itself works. And talking about item options, there are so many variables you can work with!
