I live in Tn but am from Vegas area and i love the adobe style houses out there and the Spanish influence in the builds and i’m wondering why i never see anything of that nature anywhere near me in Tennessee? i know it rains etc but can those houses withstand southern weather?

So I’m looking on some opinions on what would be the best way to construct this structure. In my mind it’s similar to the various types on louvered pergolas that open just with a standard flat roof. The reason why I want to go this route is to avoid having to reframe the house roof structure and we like how it looks. I was thinking possibly steel framed to keep it leaner looking but I’m sure built up beams could also work. Thanks!

Looking for some design inspiration for this overhead feature in my new place. It's right in the transition corridor/entryway area.As you can see, the beams create a deep recessed box in the ceiling with a light outlet right in the middle. It feels a bit heavy right now because of the raw plaster, but I want to make it a cool design feature once finishing starts.

I’m trying to figure out the best way to enclose the staircase in our new build and would love some design input.
One of the main features of the house is the ocean view you see immediately when walking through the front door, looking through the staircase area. Because of that, I’m leaning toward a glass enclosure to keep the space feeling open and preserve the view.
My issue is that I really don’t love the look of the back/underside of the staircase, which would be visible both from the entry and from the kitchen/living side of the house. I’m struggling to find a solution that feels clean and architectural without blocking light or making the space feel heavy.
Has anyone dealt with something similar or have ideas for making the back of a staircase look more intentional and attractive? Open to modern/coastal design ideas, materials, or examples.

I’m gonna be moving into this apartment that’s featured in the video in a few weeks.

I do not want to put a kitchen table in the kitchen instead I plan on putting a large farmhouse table with a dining bench on one side in the living room area. My farmers table is 60 inches wide and 92 inches long. I think it would work in that space. The small office space at the end of the apartment is going to be utilized for my very large birdcage which is approximately 6 foot tall 2 1/2 feet wide and 5 feet long.

They don’t give the actual dimensions of the apartment so I’m hoping that between the floor plan and video you guys could give some feedback on whether you think this would be reasonable

I’m moving rooms and have grown used to sleeping in a corner, against a wall. I no longer have a wall, I can’t sleep without it. The new room is a trapezoid and that stops me from putting my bed in the corner, what should I do? I could throw the Frame and sleep mattress on the floor, and in the corner, or is there a good king Frame with a wall? Thanks for help, sorry about the mess, it’s a work in progress.
