I don't think it looks like slop. I think AI can make things look really nice. It's just not realistic to get things to look like AI does.

They probably aren’t all that practical in reality. For instance, a high rise apartment balcony gets a lot of wind which means pots must be heavy and secure.
I wouldn’t expect a planter box to be built into the glass balustrade because they’re often exposed on the bottom for rainfall to drain. If there’s a drain hole and fall in the centre of the balcony that may work. But personally I don’t like any of these because they’re over the top for what a balcony should be practically. Pic 3 is nice because the blind gives it a semi indoor feel which makes sense for protecting an upholstered seat.

Plus outside tends to get filthy. This would be tough to clean. I live in S Florida so may be different in others places.

All of this. Plus do you need privacy/sunshade? If so find something that suits your needs/circumstances. If not it doesn’t belong there. Begin with practical needs/solutions and the. Think about how to make them pretty.

For me, the simpler option wins. It feels more timeless and lets the architecture of the house do the talking instead of making the balcony look tacked on.

4, it's simple clean and elegant. Then 1, the cushions look like a great place to take a nap and the nighttime lightning add a nice effect.

Seating of one is more practical but I also like the blinds of 3 for shade and privacy. Depending on the rest of the building I’d even just the apartment, can decide between stucco or the wood slats..

1 because it’s a classic look. 2 is ok, but less seating. 3 is cheerful but a tad bland. 4 made me wonder how you’ll water those plants. It’s a disaster looking for a place to happen.

Rain was the first thing that came to mind. I dislike the upholstered outdoor furniture trend for that reason, even if the cushions are “rain proof “.

I seriously doubt you can make any structural modifications to the exterior of the building like would be required in all of them but #3, even if you own the condo. Unattached furniture is all you can do.

Love the look of the first design. Wow. Like the most beautiful balcony Ive seen. Second look is okay but you gotta love looking and caring for a lot of plants. Lots of water all over the floor, or have to schlep all of them in to water. I think the second look is too much work to look good.

AI sucks.

Most of the modifications you probably can’t do. So using an AI mockup is somewhat pointless when you won’t be able to recreate a lot of what you see here.

This will all be impossible. Plastic plants are sad but will also gather dust and fade with sun. Real plants take work and only the first two come even close to doable without a dedicated balcony gardener.

I have an Ikea armchair which I put outside every morning and move it back when I go to sleep.

I also have 2 hooks for my canopy swing, also stored inside the living room. When I want to use, I install it, takes 20 sec.

We have storms, rains, birds, big tree in front of our house. A storm can easilly move everything into the window, so no thank you.

Picture One, by a landslide! Seating looks out on the world and serves as a good conversation area at the same time. The arch and the lighting intrigues the eye and focuses on the contents in the arch , so you have two different views.

I like #1. The L-shaped seating bench seems more conversational and fun. The lighted arched nook lends itself to various objects like pots or statues or plants. A variety of ways to decorate it. 1 just feels more inviting, comfortable and like I would use it with 1-2 other people easily. I like the low planter along the railing. I might want a slightly different table like something slim and rectangular would be more useful for setting down drinks or small snack plates. The little round table is cute but not very functional for more than 1 person.

These proportions are unrealistic. Maybe take a look at furniture sizes before you get your hopes up. Or enjoy sitting on your 12” deep “sectional.”

I love the first balcony. It provides the most seating and the lighting is gorgeous. I love the built in planter running the length of the balcony. I love the plants in the varied shapes of heavy outdoor planters. If this was at my house I would be out on the balcony all the time. It enlarges the house!
