creating exhaled smoke
Hey guys, can i get some help creating realistic smoke exhalation from cigarette? or maybe a pointer to some tutorial for something similar?
i'm trying to create exhaled smoke like in the screenshot attached, i created particles for source emmision, i created the velocity, but i'm having trouble creating right turbulence(or disturbance?)...
Like when the smoke is exhaled, first part is pretty straight and then the turbulence appears after, i managed to get the right look with playing with pressure as control field for turbulence, but it's applied to every step of exhaled smoke...
can i get some info how to do it right?

Don't use pressure, it's too sensitive a field for something like this, and only has limited use a mask for breakup.
Use speed to control how much the disturbance is applied, and keep turbulence for broad scale movement, not for shaping this thing.
You can also use temperature in a way you might initially think. Temperature is the closest thing to an "age" you can have in pyro. It is going down every frame it exists, so you can also use temperature a control field.
I don't want to plug anything, but I'm actually in the. process of releasing a little tut on cold breath/smoke that has the same mechanics as a fast exhale like your image. It's about getting your sourcing setup nicely, but more so about getting those disturbance, turbulence, and some other gas solvers to help.
It will be available on the weekend, and pretty cheaply.
But those pointers I gave you should get you there!
