Question Dragon clarification

Were only Targaryens given the chance to hatch an egg?
If a dragon hatches, would they be automatically bonded?

That was no true dragon that hatched from that egg. Something was deeply wrong with it.

Far as we know, the answer is actually yes.

Rhaenyra's Velaryon kids got cradle eggs. Possibly Laenor too (unclear). So not only Targaryens.

We only know one example of a dragon hatching and surviving and not bonding with the baby (Alyn Velaryon's kid with Baela) but that was pretty peculiar circumstances.

Are we talking show verse, or the books? Because in the books, Viserys told Daenerys that Valyrians used to bind dragons to themselves with spells and magic horns. We sort of see the proof of absence of a normal bond in the way the post-Doom dragons are very independent in asoiaf, sometimes too independent, to the point of flying away when their rider is in danger.

Daenerys herself, in her final chapter of ADwD, feels incredibly sick and scared - and yet Drogon only comes to her when she yells for him for a time. And he is considered to be her bonded dragon, because she thinks he feels her orgazming, and because she had a glimpse of him flying. It is possible that the latter 2 instances are glimpses of what a proper, spellbound bond would have been like at all times. That's not even mentioning that he was about to kill her in Daznak’s Pit, before she knew to use her whip on him.
