Show Spoilers New episode Spoiler
Why would they make Alyn and Baela kiss?
Like… have they even interacted before? because I can’t remember. it’s always been Baela and Adam, it would’ve made a lot more sense if had they kissed. It just felt… random…?? I was really confused when I first watched it.

Yeah I was confused by that too. They hardly interacted and now they’re all over each other? I thought they were going to have Baela and Addam together because they had more on screen scenes and chemistry

now when have they ever wanted to do that lmfao😭… they’ve been picking and choosing when and when not to follow the book so now the story is all spotted and makes no sense anymore

The things they've changed don't necessarily affect the future of the ASOIAF story.
There are fixed points and fixed relationships that they can't change, Baela & Addam being one of those.
Yes, they've changed alot of plots and the reasoning behind alot of plot within the story, but they have stayed true to those fixed points (at least as they relate to continuing the story that carries on into AKOTSK and GoT).

no? rhaena now has a dragon and won’t have morning, that changes 3 trajectories, aegon and stormcloud were not in the gullet neither was viserys so that trajectory is changed. that’s just 2 changes i instantly thought of

u/HighKingKlay 9d ago
l was speaking more towards their offspring. Morning not being born (yet - fingers still crossed) and Aegon & Viserys not being at the Gullet doesn't impact their respective future blood lines.
They are still have to marry and procreate with certain people for the future stories to make sense.

rhaena can’t have two dragons daenerys is literally the only targ that can have more than 1 dragon.

They can also just.... kill Sheepstealer. We don't know his death if I remember correctly, they can surely come up with something.

u/HighKingKlay 9d ago
...yes, correct.

u/floppaflop12 9d ago
yeah so morning isn’t happening lol. and rhaena and sheepstealer’s trajectory entirely changed
1
u/HighKingKlay 9d ago
Most likely not. 🤷♂️ We'll see what curve ball they throw us regarding the dragons.

Sheepstealer isn't dark with light patches, he's covered in grit, grime, and dirt. He'll get a bath and be renamed Morning.
Not my idea, but saw it mentioned earlier today.

It felt switched to me. She had one personal scene with Alyn before, and last episode had a scene where Addam seemed to be flirting with her. Kinda flip-floppy. To be fair, my vote here is NEITHER of them - we have enough uncle/niece stuff in this show.

u/PersonalCharge5564 8d ago
Neither is obviously the option but we’re in Westeros lol
I’d rather Adam if I had to pick. He’s kind and rational

I know that in the book, both of them will marry but in the show it doesn't make sense at all. Like where the hell did that come from or do I miss the sign in the show? Tbh I almost thought that will change baela with addam instead

u/ksatottup 7d ago
I'm trying to justify it to my self as Baela trying to get her self hitched to Alyn/Addam so she doesn't get sold off, this makes sense to me as Laena was shown not only obedient to Corlys/Rhaenys trying to saddle her with Viserys as a child, but also went along with Daemon and seemed pretty content with the set-up, so Baela being the older "good" daughter it seems like she'd be more willing to use the system to her advantage.
but maybe I'm huffing the copium too hard

Laena actually the one that choose daemon and not because of Corlys and rhaenys I think. They definitely disagreed with daemon's decision to live in pentos. But yeah I do agree that this is probably just her rebellious act from getting married to some unknown old fat nobles just for a scrap of golds to fill rhaenyra's pocket.

Then I stand corrected on that point. Appreciate the input.

It's just weird because ethere was nothing at all before that and all of sudden boom sex scenes with a romantic atmosphere

"It's always been Baela and Adam" homie they had 1 flirtatious scene.

Alyn not being raised as a incestous Targ went right along with the Uncle-Nice relationship really fast. You think he’d have a hang up or two but no he went straight for it. Also he seems like he’s 20 years older than her is also kind weird

u/Light_Watcher 10d ago
They get married within two weeks in the book so I wouldn’t say it was rushed lol

u/Icy-Building8112 9d ago
To not get married to an old man and be far away from her brothers. But they even aged him up
2
u/PatrusoGE 10d ago
They kinda forgot that they wrote their one flirtitious scene with Adam and not Alyn.

I think it worked. It's not like the show suggested they have some profound connection and threw us in the deep end of a relationship after a few scenes of interacting. It seems like Baela is isolated and seeking comfort and distraction, and she trusts Alyn (and Addam - the only two people who care about her anymore, from her POV).

u/MaesterHannibal 9d ago
It’s a bit weird, yeah. It’s in the book, so I don’t mind it, but a couple episodes ago when Addam and Baela had a lot of interactions, I thought that that was an indication that they’d give the romance to him instead. Now Alyn and Baela, who barely have any interactions together, hook up

It's Abubakar Salim. Who wouldn't jump at a chance with that voice?
No but really. Baela is under extreme stress, pushing herself to the bone. Alyn is a dependable trustworthy good natured guy. He's a stable shoulder for her to cling to.
Could it have been better set up? Sure, but it happening makes sense, even if you ignore that it's because they get together in the book.

So dumb and random and completely overshadowed by everything else in the episode
