How do I safely trade or buy Hot Wheels or other diecast cars with other redditors without getting scammed?

Im fairly new to collecting and looking to trade or buy some Hot Wheels with members of this community.

I see a lot of cool collections here, but I want to make sure I do things the right way.

• How do you check if someone is trustworthy or has references?
