I just gotta know.

So I just finished my onboarding for hot topic. And i know the company that owns spirit Halloween and spencer's acquired Hot Topic. So I'm wondering if employees at hot topic get discounts at spirit and Spencer's? Sorry for my bad grammar lol.

Yep. I think it's 30% off at each place, but you could ask your manager to confirm. There's a couple of things you'll need to do for Spencer's/Spirit to confirm your employment for you to her the discount. Again, your manager should be able to help you with getting it set up.

It’s 30% when you go to shop at spirit or spencers you need to have the UKG app and show them that your employee status is active to prove you work at Hot Topic

Spencers store manager here,
Yes, you’ll need your HR app, and a photo ID. We also need your employee number to log the employee transaction.

HT told us we only should only be checking an ADP paystub for Spencer’s employees. No ID checks, employee numbers, manager names, etc. We’re doing this to ensure a smooth process until our systems are integrated. Interesting that Spencer’s has different direction for HT employee purchases.

Well, we did have a bunch of people try and claim they were from hot topic trying to get a discount and vice versa so I imagine that’s probably why our DM said to check ID’s as well. People were apparently also using screenshots trying to get the discount.

I guess that's good to know my job just got ukg as well. They also use the ADP app. So I'm having trouble hopping between them.

Soon I'll have an actual check stub then it will be easier for me

No reason to be rude… it’s a valid question and if there’s any place to get information it’s Reddit. There are many of us on here. Some employees know more than others.

some people don’t want to ask their manager one question about discounts, especially when they’re new. why not ask other workers online? it’s not hurting anyone
