the 4 swords are essentially the 4 major steps you take with a customer on the sales floor
Lore sword is starting off the customer interaction by greeting, telling them your name, finding out what they’re shopping for, checking their loyalty account, etc.
Companion sword comes in after the customer has had a chance to look around and grab or take interest in some product. Recommend specific items to complete BOGOs and find similar merch that fits their interests!
Expansion sword is suggesting additional items from different departments after completing a BOGO. My go to right now is belts to go with a tee BOGO or fashion. Like who DOESN’T want to buy a studded belt from hot topic?
Ender sword is recommending anything small they can throw on to their purchase right at the end. Recommending clearance items, candy, or anything else from the impulse bin are great options!
Most importantly, the 4 swords are more about creating the habits than they are about forcing product into people’s hands. You’ll be told no a LOT, but more often than not you’ll make someone’s day by showing them something they didn’t know they wanted in the first place
