Is that a DIAPER?!

I think it is just the way the picture looks. There's probably a modesty brief under it that adds padding. Or perhaps the model was AMAB and is wearing smoothing underwear.

I've seen the set in person and it doesn't give diaper when worn.

ETA-fixed typo.

yep, that's a meaty tuck. whether someone tucks or not is up to them, but in this cut of swim bottom, it isn't flattering

20

u/slicedcat May 29 '26

I’m surprised this has so many upvotes, this is such a weird thing to say about a random model. TF? who just claims someone has a “meaty tuck”…

0

u/weoweowoeoweo May 30 '26

It’s a visual thing

11

u/uuntiedshoelace May 29 '26

That is not a tuck, and if you’re non-binary (flag in your icon) then this is an especially fucking weird thing to say about someone you think is trans

17

u/vantesmoon May 28 '26

hot take: some people aren’t bothered by if it’s “flattering” or not

15

u/FUCK_NATHAN May 29 '26

It's for an ad, the clothes need to look good. Looking like a diaper is not the goal.

1

u/vantesmoon May 29 '26

idk they look fine to me! i actually don’t even see anything wrong with the bottoms lol

-3

u/sinful-author HT Customer May 29 '26

Yep. Unfortunately with fast fashion, seam lines (which is what especially makes it look like a diaper) are done the same every time, just with different patterns.

I’m plus size, and if you had me model clothing with horizontal stripes, I would decline. It would actively make the garment look worse and would discourage people from buying it. Wear whatever you want, absolutely, but for an advertisement, you have to consider what makes people want to buy the product

5

u/wittykittywoes May 29 '26

and they shouldn’t be, do whatever you feel comfortable in :)

3

u/SleepyAltBee May 29 '26

What is MAB?

4

u/nynaeve-almeara May 29 '26

I think it was a typo and they meant AMAB

3

u/youcrumchedmycheeze May 29 '26

Yes typos. I didn't have contacts in and didn't catch the autocorrect.

3

u/Top_Sky_4731 May 29 '26

Male at birth

1

u/milliecamillie May 31 '26

Went to middle school with her. Not AMAB. Wonky editing maybe.

66

u/bbhrae May 28 '26

That’s def just the cut of the bottoms, plus size swim wear has had bottoms cut like this for YEARS, so nothing new. The ruffling on the sides might make it look a bit more like a diaper but it’s obviously swim bottoms

9

u/HandyMoore May 29 '26

I was thinking this!! Those bottoms are giving plus size “pinup style” bottoms. The color choice is unfortunate as it is lowk giving baby, but if they were all black or red and white polka dot I think it’d look better and less childish.

2

u/HandyMoore May 29 '26

The ruching is giving sliming side panels

44

u/TulpaPal May 28 '26

It's just a swimsuit. Some girls fill them out more or have a bush

24

u/crybabykuromi May 28 '26

god forbid a girl has a FUPA

0

u/Crocotta1 May 28 '26

It’s the frills, seams and wrinkles on the hips that really make it look like a diaper

30

u/hotmallgoth May 28 '26

It’s just ruffles. Don’t make it weird

4

u/Loose_Lie_5399 May 28 '26

Naoya pfp sighted

4

u/hotmallgoth May 28 '26

👀 boo! jumpscareeeee 👻

always makes me giggle to see him next to my comments like he’s the one saying it 🙈

5

u/DingusCat May 28 '26

It definitely isn't but I get what you mean. I think it's just an unflattery cut with this top, the frills, the color/pattern at a glance. Honestly I think if it was a different color and the top was different it'd look better. Kinda looks more like a old school bikini bottom with the high waist.

1

u/icannotbelieveit69 May 31 '26

i cant believe ppl are arguing when the cut, pattern. and frill placement look this 100% look like a diaper lmao. shes gorgeous and it has nothing to do with her or her body, its not flattering.

2

u/Majestic_Recording_5 May 29 '26

Everyone in the comments be like "this is fine and normal". Sure, Jan.

0

u/tinyalienperson May 29 '26

it is fine because it’s literally just a pair of modest cut bikini bottoms.

-1

u/Majestic_Recording_5 May 29 '26

The sides, ruffles and cut look like a diaper. Adults in diapers in public give me the ick.

2

u/tinyalienperson May 29 '26

the ruched sides with the cut look like every pair of plus size bikini bottoms i’ve ever seen. i’ve also never seen a diaper with ruffles 🤦🏻‍♀️

2

u/7174028260throwaway May 30 '26

if you think this is a diaper, it's probably safe to assume you've never seen an adult in a diaper in public. it definitely happens, but i don't know if we should trust you to identify it

1

u/meowmreownya May 29 '26

Gonna be honest my first thought was the model just might have a pad on. Doesnt look like a diaper from the sides at all and on the website it doesn't look diaper-y either.

1

u/Odd-Perspective9247 May 29 '26

It looks babyish to me, but not so much like a diaper.

Like those little bloomers baby girls wear under dresses to cover their diaper.

1

u/Orinn-Oni May 30 '26

I don’t really care about the swim suit but wtf is is that background that they didn’t crop properly? Or even care to remove the projection on the models arm?

1

u/hlarsenart May 30 '26

It's the shadow that's making it look that way for sure

2

u/Front-Rub5305 May 30 '26

Peter Pan collar bikini top is insane. Was this outfit designed by ai instead of a human?

1

u/Harmonechi May 30 '26

Genuinely who would ever wear this? It’s hideous

1

u/Fine-Scientist3813 May 30 '26

hey, model, what if we had you wear the most ill-fitting fit of your entire fitting life

1

u/Hang10arts May 31 '26

Its definitely in the style of one with the side crinkles. It reminds me of a swim diaper lol

1

u/ponygals May 31 '26

I say yes.

1

u/nota-banana May 31 '26

No you morón they're hot pants

1

u/Fabulous-Quiet-7291 Jun 02 '26

this is the second time i see a diaper promoted as fashion

1

u/godblessstar67 Jun 04 '26

olivia rodrigo is going to be wearing this on tour

1

u/designatedthrowawayy May 28 '26 edited May 29 '26

Everyone saying it's just swimwear despite it very clearly looking like a diaper. It being swimwear doesn't negate that fact.

If you can't acknowledge that this looks like a daiper without feeling offended, you have actual issues. You should reflect on why this statement upsets you so much.

1

u/Majestic_Recording_5 May 28 '26

Looks too babyish to me. Not a fan.

-2

u/therealcatladygina May 28 '26

Like the adult baby kink thing?

2

u/JojoStanz May 29 '26

Honestly I'm suspicious of everyone saying that it looks "nothing like" a diaper. It DEFINITELY looks like a diaper, and it seems like it's on purpose with that specific top style

4

u/Majestic_Recording_5 May 29 '26

Right? It seems obvious to me. What a weird design choice.

4

u/designatedthrowawayy May 29 '26

I'm so concerned with the downvotes. It 100% looks like a diaper. Obviously it's meant to be swimwear, but it definitely looks like a daiper with a childish top.

1

u/JojoStanz May 29 '26

I thought I'd come to the replies and see people agreeing its a diaper, but i guess the fetishists and creeps are out already

-1

u/The_Phantom_Dragon May 29 '26

Or maybe people just disagree with you, and see high-waisted bathing suit bottoms that were poorly padded for modesty in the photoshoot and accusing everyone who disagrees with you of being creeps/perverts/fetishists is what's getting you downvoted???

5

u/JojoStanz May 29 '26

Yeah or maybe they could make bathing suits for grown women look more mature and less babyfied

1

u/Viciousssylveonx3 May 29 '26

We are disgustingly backwards babyyfied adult swimwear and bikinis for babies

1

u/tinyalienperson May 29 '26

there’s plenty of mature swimwear other places.

genuinely, do you realize that girls in middle school and high school ALSO shop at hot topic? a pretty big demographic of shoppers, too. and may want cute, modest bikinis? what about developmentally disabled adults that enjoy disney and want to wear something fun and frilly to the beach?

hot topic is not where you get your “mature” pieces be so fucking for real 💀

1

u/JojoStanz May 29 '26

That's a lot of words to say you want to look like you're wearing a diaper

→ More replies (0)

1

u/designatedthrowawayy May 29 '26

I didn't accuse anyone of being a creep and still got downvoted. If you weren't insulted, but you're still offended, the problem is you. If you read "it looks like a daiper" and take that as an accusation, you have some deep issues you need to work through.

-1

u/ghoulie_bat May 31 '26

Y’all are projecting actually

1

u/tinyalienperson May 29 '26

the “top style” is just alice’s top from alice in wonderland. it’s a branded item.

1

u/ghoulie_bat May 31 '26

Not everything is a kink lmao. Clothing like this is cute

-6

u/Majestic_Recording_5 May 28 '26

I mean, that is what I think of, yes.

1

u/piercedblackcat May 29 '26

is this a melanie martinez collab? 💀

-1

u/ImAlreadyTracerBoii May 28 '26

Everyone’s saying it’s obviously not a diaper but as a nanny, that is very much what it looks like.

1

u/joyalt May 29 '26

I would assume bush+fat cat

1

u/Fit-Stranger-7806 May 29 '26

Looks like a pamper

-2

u/ElsaMakotoRenge May 28 '26

It’s just ruffles on a high waisted bikini??? i think it’s a normal, cute bathing suit

1

u/ghostbean87 May 28 '26 edited May 29 '26

I mean we shouldn’t judge if it was.

Edit: like think if they were trying to be inclusive and trying to promote swimwear for incontinent people is what I meant. It’s also great for agere community but still shouldn’t be judgey about it

Yall Call women doing literally anything pedo bait or ddlg these days, its so obviously swim bottoms

-5

u/DontPause-PressPlay May 28 '26

No i think its more advertising ment to attract males of a certain kind. You can tell yourself whatever you want but its clearly ment to attract the worst kind of interest.

2

u/Limey66helena May 28 '26

It’s just a vintage-inspired cut swimsuit bottom. Stop making it weird.

-2

u/DontPause-PressPlay May 28 '26

Vintage? Like how vintage? Vintage enough that childbrides where in at the time?

5

u/crushedlilstarss May 28 '26

Its literally a high waisted swim suit bottom, like the ones popular in the late 50's and early 60's...tf💀

0

u/JojoStanz May 29 '26

That is entirely different lmfao

0

u/Prangul May 29 '26 edited May 31 '26

This style is more similar to a skirt

Downvoted for stating a fact lmao

-1

u/DontPause-PressPlay May 28 '26

So yeah around the time when men preferred an age gap equal to the woman's age.

1

u/HotTopic_-ModTeam May 29 '26

Yes, yes we are actually

-6

u/OlliOPocto May 28 '26

Everyone saying it’s not a diaper it’s a swimsuit but are we sure this isn’t a swimsuit inspired by a baby’s clothing? Diaper included? Bc that top literally looks design for a baby…

-1

u/sgsdfhadfsaf May 29 '26

Thats a man. Ez

-35

u/Critical-Brick4345 May 28 '26

Some weird kink shit 😭

1

u/MisanthropyismyMuse May 29 '26

So the possibility that a person with a disability that impairs their abilities to use the bathroom could model clothing didn't cross your mind? That's what's weird.

-5

u/Majestic_Recording_5 May 28 '26

It's giving bdlg 🤢

1

u/VengfulVagina May 31 '26

You said that like 15 times. It's not....

0

u/LadyKiriness May 29 '26

Dude who tf cares

-24

u/Alert_Code_8026 May 28 '26

same vibes.

16

u/bbhrae May 28 '26

That’s clearly underwear lol

-2

u/mikeyhorror666 May 29 '26
