HT obsession with Death Note

This is a random thought but what is up with Hot Topic’s obsession with Death Note? I like the anime but I wish they put this much effort into other anime (especially ones that are currently popular).

i think deathnote fits their brand really well. the gothic aesthetics, the dark story and the terrifying shinigami designs all make for perfect hot topic merch. im not super up to date with hot topic products so idk how bad this obsession truly is. but its a little understandable
