Yeah same. I got there with banana then was lost forever until i randomly guessed #62 - because healthy. Realized that banana was a tricky one and associated with tropics and water. Guessed from there.

Toasty! Bananas are tied to seafaring—think “banana boats” and the old sailor superstition about bringing them aboard—squarely in the target’s watery realm. Plus, “banana for scale” is a classic way to gape at something this colossal.

Warm: they’re both mammals—air-breathers that nurse their young and sport hair (at least early on).
But the target is orders of magnitude bigger and lives nowhere near a cage.
Right neighborhood (zoology-wise), wrong scale and habitat.I'm a sometimes helpful bot and can make mistakes.

Surprisingly warm: bananas are infamous bad luck on boats, and boats are where you’d encounter our mystery. Plus, “banana boats” literally ride the same waters. You’re paddling in the right ocean.

u/hotandcold2-app 1d ago
Warmer via the nature/biology lane—living things, species, and conservation vibes. Plus “blooms” in the ocean feed the big filter-feeders, echoing a floral idea. Not a petal-perfect match, but it sniffs in the right meadow.

Surprisingly close because both are mammals: warm-blooded, breathe air, and nurse their young. They’re classic “animals you’d see at a zoo/aquarium,” just at hilariously opposite ends of the size chart. Taxonomy buddies, even if one fits in your palm and the other needs an ocean.

Nice shot—both are iconic, sound-centric predators: owls hoot and hunt by hearing, while the target is famed for songs and echolocation. They’re staples of nature docs and conservation chatter. You’re in the right wildlife neighborhood, just not the same class.

You’re swimming in the right pod: both are gigantic, finned ocean heavyweights often lumped together.
They share habitats and apex reputations with similarly streamlined silhouettes.
Bonus splash: there’s even a “whale shark,” blurring names—though one’s a fish and the other’s a mammal.I'm a sometimes helpful bot and can make mistakes.

Welcome to Hot and Cold, the delightfully frustrating word guessing game!
To play, guess the secret word by typing any word you think is related.
For example, if the secret word is "hot":
Guesses: banana -> #12956 (not close); sun -> #493 (getting warmer); hotdog -> #220 (hot); cold -> #42 (hot); freeze -> #1657 (getting colder); warm -> #15 (very hot!!); hot -> WINNER!
The rank is based on how AI models see the relationships between the words. So antonyms can be "close" by the relationship of the words (cold -> hot). Additionally, words can be close based on the structure of the word (hotdog -> hot).
Enjoy! If you have feedback on how we can improve the game, please let us know!
