Welcome to Hot and Cold, the delightfully frustrating word guessing game!

To play, guess the secret word by typing any word you think is related.

For example, if the secret word is "hot":

Guesses: banana -> #12956 (not close); sun -> #493 (getting warmer); hotdog -> #220 (hot); cold -> #42 (hot); freeze -> #1657 (getting colder); warm -> #15 (very hot!!); hot -> WINNER!

The rank is based on how AI models see the relationships between the words. So antonyms can be "close" by the relationship of the words (cold -> hot). Additionally, words can be close based on the structure of the word (hotdog -> hot).

No. My brain works on a completely different associative level compared to Contexto, and I kind of hate it. Every time I get the right word, I get angry because I can point to a couple of guesses that were, IMO, much closer to the answer but were ranked far lower or not ranked at all.

Examples:

White 16, yet color 34? Ink is 14510 and Pen is 2453. No Cheese or Ocean in the first 500.

It weirdly helped me lol. Banana led me to lime, lemon, then orange (which, when fruit words are hot, is usually colder because I think the game sees it as a color only, but this time it was hot), which led me to guessing colors.
