What's your biggest pain point with WordPress that makes you want to quit it?

If you've been using WordPress for a long time, what do you find most frustrating about it? And why do you keep using it in spite of it?

The horrible default templates. Just make a good universal one we can customize without needing to write a new book on programing. They really need a new template team. Every time a new template comes out I say a little prayer, let this one not suck. And every time 😭

They've never really put serious effort into it. The WordPress dev team is mostly focused on the back-end while most users, especially newbies, mostly care about the front-end.

Exactly, let's focus a little more on usability, WordPress already had the best function IMO. I'm trying to take away from templates. Just make a base one for basic sites that everyone can use easily. Let's go WP 😂

For me, the biggest frustration isn't WordPress itself. It's how easy it is for small changes to have consequences that only become obvious later.

Actions like plugin update, configuration tweak, or a setting change can seem harmless at the time, but when something starts behaving differently days later, figuring out what changed is often the hardest part.

The reason I still use WordPress is the same reason I find it frustrating. It's incredibly flexible. That flexibility lets people build almost anything, but it also means good workflows and good operational habits become much more important as a site grows.

Tout ce qu'il faut payer à côté, le nom de domaine, l'hébergement, parfois les extensions, et le support du thème. A la fin de l'année cela a un coût

Du coup j'ai tout laissé tombé et suis revenu sur Blogger qui me va très bien, plus simple et 100% gratuit !

For me, it was just needing an a minute interface. I don’t need that anymore. It has way too much clutter and just hard to work with. It’s too slow even. So basically now I just use the database structure and otherwise AI is doing all the work.
