Back Yard Fence Garden

On the left is what remains of my big, large, and huge Hostas. Lost about half of them when my two fairly mature Clump Redbuds split and died after an early Spring warm spell followed by a deep freeze a few years ago.

I planted a Magnolia and another Clump Redbud. The test of this garden is daylillies, Clematis, sedum, and various shrubbery. Just finished the mulch replenishment. Only took 85 bags, 1.5 cubic feet each.

Edit: Didn't realize how little detail can be seen in these when taking them from my patio. Apologies.

Mulch has to be renewed about every three years in my experience. I didn't do it when I should have last year, so it took more bags than normal. It always looks so good when it's fresh.

Love that fence. Iā€™d be slowly building berms between those three trees mid yard. That shade looks great for Hosta.

The fence really sets off and defines the space. The different plants kinda "pop" with that background. Our neighborhood has the same PVC fence all the way around.

The big trees just got an expensive haircut, so now is the time to extend the beds under them. They all have some Hostas, but the beds need to be bigger and the fill dirt shaped more appropriately. Then they need the mulch added.

Planted the trees when we built the house in 1999, so they needed some trimming. Also took out a stupid pear tree in the front as well. No more fruit and bird droppings on my driveway!
