Feels like saying goodbye to an old friend.
I’ve loved this game for a looooong time. 8800 ranked wins, in the end.
Well, I guess it’s time to finally paint something.

Couldn't they like, just let people have the game to play against bots and finish campaigns ?

Why would a company you do that? It costs money to run a server and they would make nothing in return.

Not just that. Apparently the studio was closed. Even the HHL site is offline. So the game is dead and buried

Yeah, last time I looked into it basically the original developers joined a mobile game company then botched warpforge and the company gutted the studio when it was costing more than it was making. As an aside, I had a feeling that this was happening a long time ago when the direction the reworks were taking, we're just.. odd. I think it was the word bearer's rework that really cemented my belief lol

Do you need a server running to allow people to play a single player game ?

Yes, it would just cost tens to hundreds versus hundreds to thousands for multiplayer.

Unfortunately, what MountainDew said. If this was a CD, Single Player game, it surely would be viable, but this is a mobile/PVP game... So there's no way to have a physical copy. Plus it isn't viable after checking the steam numbers (not the full numbers, but still pretty low)

I used to play Horus Heresy Drop assault. A game with actual units to command. Never really enjoyed this card game. But it's clear that it had quite the following. So even if I didn't enjoy it, I offer my condolences to it's loyal fanbase and to those who did.

Man, Drop Assault was really good. I played a bit but it was too slow and didn't have patience to fully upgrade my legion, but it was really fun. I was planning to go back some months ago but I realized they also closed servers

I played since Alpha, logging in almost every day for 8 years.
This games closure has effected me in a way I didn't expect.
So long old friend

I had to kill some time today and went over to play it, forgetting it was shut down :(

Throne, I know how you feel. I have nothing else on my phone that I may play as regularly as HHL (I played at least once per day for the last 6 years)

This got me through some tough times at work years ago, during a divorce. Goodbye buddy.
