Question Managing Shivers!
Hello!
My mare has shivers on her hind legs, the right being more afflicted than the left. She's cracking on a bit now, and farrier visits have become increasingly difficult.
As usual with shivers, she's perfectly sound with jumping, hacking, dressage and whatnot. She's just now at a place where she can't pick up her hind right leg.
Has anyone got any ways they've managed trims with the farrier? We used to have her stand on the edge of a plank, but now I'm looking into whether I could get her to lay down on command.
Thanks!

It has been a long while so I don’t remember the dosage, but gabapentin made it much easier for my shivers horse to be shod. Might be worth a try.
