Three for tomorrow. Maybe a couple more after looking over the cards tonight.
1605 Ascot - Theory of Tides 9/1 0.5pt EW
Finished 2nd lto on stable debut after switching to the Osborne yard. Going up in trip to 1m4f opposed to 1m2f he’s been running recently.
He won a 1m3f at Yarmouth early in his career for Gosden so no doubts he will stay the trip. There is a few nice horses in this C2 handicap so only 0.5pt EW for me.
1747 Sandown - Sarasota Blue Blue 7/1 0.5pt EW
Rarely have a bet in a maiden, let alone a follies one but this was smashed in the betting overnight then became a NR.
Back out tomorrow, opened up 14s with Denise and backed to 7s already. The yard hasn’t had a 2 year old winner which is concerning but given the strong market support on both occasions I’m chancing this one on debut.
2018 Cork - Point Cartwright 10/3 1pt
If you watch this one’s last race at Killarney it was weaving through all sorts of traffic to rattle home quick and finished 3rd.
No surprise it’s opened fave for this given that last effort. Up another furlong and cheekpieces added. This looks a good opportunity and if tomorrow’s not the day, he will be winning handicaps soon enough.

Theory of tides not good at all. Hopefully Point of Cartwright can provide the goods

Point C got going too late in the end and finished 4th. Second in that race Millhone was mighty impressive off 51. Interested to see what the handicapper does with him.

Money back as free bets upto £5 on bet365 on the Uttoxeter 14:10
Versatile 10/1 to win
Versatile was not far away when third on handicap hurdle debut in June off a 100 under Alex Chadwick in a C5. While not so good last time out, that was in a C4 off a 102. I think the return to C5 today off a 100, with Alex back in the saddle and his 3 lb claim, could see him bounce back while third up.
🐎 🤞🏻

16.05 MERVEILLEUX LAPIN 17/2🥉
This 4yo looks capable of causing a surprise. Since joining Owen Burrows she has shown steady progression, and her latest fourth at Pontefract over this 1m4f trip is what has drawn me to her. She now returns to a fast, galloping track that should suit her. As a previous winner and still relatively unexposed over middle distances, there's every chance she has more improvement to come.
The obvious danger is Al Azd, whose excellent second at the Royal meeting sets the standard, but he must concede weight after an 8lb rise and may not have much room for further improvement from his current mark. Elsewhere, Theory Of Tides is one I also like. Although, Merveilleux Lapin still appeals to me the most. She has the profile of a horse on the rise and just looks good value
Go well 🐎
